For our first meal in Florence, it was alright. We had no idea where to eat and just wandering around the neighborhood near our hotel which was right across the street from the train station. There’s a nice patio outside, but there’s also noise from the street to deal with. We ordered the spaghetti with meatballs and a diavola pizza to share, and a bottle of wine. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente and had a flavorful sauce. The little meatballs were good too. The crispy crust pizza held up against the sauce, though it wasn’t as spicy as I thought it could’ve been. Service was attentive. Overall, it was a good meal, but I guess I was expecting more since we just arrived in Florence.

delicious a large(20+) group of us ate here, so the restaurant provided a set menu. Every course was delicious, and I was delighted that they were extremely careful to provide me with gluten free options(when the rest were having pasta, they cooked me a delicious risotto, and provided me gluten free French bread for the bruschetta, which was actually very good — gluten free bread is often disgusting). The décor is very modern, the food well cooked and presented, and the staff were great

Sie gehören zusammen, das i quattro amici und das il portale. Und Beiden gemeinsam ist die gute Küche, das freundliche Ambiente, der gute Service. Aber das quattro amici steht mehr für Fisch, ist etwas feiner, was sich aber nicht unbedingt in den Preisen niederschlägt. Auch hier haben wir ausgesprochen gut gegessen, aber es war ja auch nur ein Seitenzimmer unserer Wohnstube Il portale. Man merkt den Patron hier wie dort und die Grundidee, daß man zum Essen da ist und nicht auf der Flucht.
