So excited that we found this gem. Been studying abroad in Florence for about 4 months now and I’ve been missing food other than pizza or pasta. THISPLACE is amazing. the service is so amazing; let me tell you, me and my two friends each ordered a mango lassi while we waited for our take out, and after we finished, the owner offered us another on the house. And then, with our takeout they provided forks and napkins and plates and a nice bag we felt like we came from a five star restaurant. The food was well packaged so nothing spilled on the bus ride back to school and it stayed warm even though we got a little lost on the way back! The chicken tikka masala reminded me of home and they provided way more naan than we thought we ordered! Prices are decent. I HIGHLY recommend this place!

After traveling 3 weeks through Europe, we were craving Indian food. We walked to this place from the city center(quite a bit of a walk). It helped build an appetite. When we arrived here, we were impressed with the décor. The food was on a mild side… but good in quality and taste. Recommend this place.

After returning from our Europe Trip, we were asked(repeatedly) about the best food we ate there. Undoubtedly, I always mention Haveli. We had such a great reception by the owners of the restaurant. The food and service was GREAT! Best Indian food I have had outside of my home country. Infact, we even got food to go for bkfast next day. THEBESTFOODINITALY; if you’ve been having pizza/pasta every meal for more than a week !!

Authentic North Indian food in Florence… Kenny G, thx for your hospitality. Great staff but the best part is the awesome food. Njoyed the vegetarian platter, paneer, daal along with my 12 Italian colleagues who savored on the meat and the breads. In my two Florence trip, I have already been there thrice !!!

After eating pastas and pizzas for a week, my taste buds were desperately searching for a more familiar taste. A taste of home… Seeing bright neon capital letters spelling ‘HAVELI’ while on our way back from a day out in Siena was a welcome sign to have Indian for dinner. After Unilocaling and finding out several raving reviews, there was no stopping us. The restaurant is a short walk away from the bus station. We made it just as they were reopening at 7pm. Punjabi music played in the background as I eyed the Mughal-esque décor. We placed our brief order of chicken tikka(appetizer), butter chicken and palak paneer along with butter naan. I could hardly wait for the tikka boti to land on my plate so I can tear into the spicy concoction. Unfortunately, that was the only highlight. It wasn’t especially mind blowing but definitely better prepared than the less than mediocre butter chicken and an even blander palak paneer. The butter naans were pretty good. On the upside, the owner and staff were very attentive and I loved that they brought an elegant wooden box filled with ‘sonf’(traditional fennel seed mouth freshener) along with our cheque.

I had such high hopes. The samosas were tiny. Poppadom was burned. I caught the manager picking his nose, so good thing he sets out the silverware. Dishes were very meh. Lassie was very good. Atmosphere is inviting. In all, I had a few bites, then went to Despar for something else. :(

Awesome place! The food is authentic and very tasty. The service is excellent. My wife and I needed a place to satisfy our Indian cravings in Italy after feeding on pasta and pizza. We visited this placed multiple times for dinner and lunch. Never went back disappointed. Their paneer dishes, dhal, and the Aloo appetizer were all very good. We tried out the other Indian restaurants in town but this place was easily hands down the best. Highly recommend it if you are craving for something Indian or something spicy or something vegetarian in Florence.

Stop searching for great Indian and try this place!!! This place is SO delicious. My husband and I had been traveling Italy for a week and while we love Italian cuisine we were dying for some flavor and spice. We’ve been spoiled with great Indian food in Los Angeles and NYC and we were skeptical about trying this place but it is one of the best Indian restaurants we’ve been to. Also the service was excellent and prompt. The owner even asked how we liked our meal. We will go back again while we are here in Florence!

Wonderful to have a change from the monotony of Pasta and Pizza. The indian food here is authentic if a little bland(probably to cater to the more delicate Italian palate). Make sure to ask for the food to be spicy and you won’t be disappointed!

It was a welcomed change from Italian food! Hubby and I decided tonight we wanted ale thing else, so thanks to Unilocal and all the reviews we decided to try this Indian restaurant out! The reviews it has received were spot on. We had a lovely meal that tasted amazing and at a good price! The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was due to service being a little slow, it took about half an hour to get mains — only cared as we were starving!

Very good Indian food. The owner can be a little stuffy. We reached there at 8 pm without a reservation, and he wanted to know if we would be out by 9 pm…(now, from our point of view, that was mostly dependent on the speed of service.) Very good menu choices — the lamb in the biriyani was great, the rice not so much. Everything was freshly made — We didn’t see a wine list, may be he only offers that to non-Indians… because Indians don’t drink alcohol? seriously? Still the food was great, and service(from the rest of the staff) was pretty good. It was a good break from pasta and pizza routine.

Mellie and I had arrived in Firenze earlier in the day and had pizza for lunch. At dinner time we looked at each other: Justin: «Pasta? Pizza? Secondi?» Mel: «Hmmm, how about mixing it up a bit??» Justin: «Sounds good… Indian?» Mel: «In Italy? Time to Unilocal…» And Haveli came through. The staff is friendly, the tandoori chicken is kickin’, and the washrooms clean. Would absolutely return when the hankering for Indian arises once again… The walk to the restaurant seems to take you thru the«rougher» areas of town, but definitely not bad at all :)

I am obsessed with Indian food and was super excited to try another place in Florence. We went as a group and the inside is surprisingly bigger than you would imagine, we walked through a courtyard and staff was friendly and attentive. We ordered samosas and different flavored naan to start. Both were delicious and comes with various sauces to eat with it. Most of us ordered Indian beer and some white wine, we all got different curry dishes(the menu is vast) and shared rice. Everything was really good and pretty abundant. I think ordering one rice for two or three is sufficient. I had a red curry dish with ginger and honey which was sweet but I loved it. They gave us special liquors for free to end the meal which was really nice of them and we ended up spending around 20 euros a head. I would absolutely come back here again, luckily there are a few really good Indian food places in Florence and I am super thrilled to have yet another one to add to my list!

This place came recommended by a friend. I checked their website and reviews on Unilocal.Being an Indian I was a bit skeptical still but I must say, the food was exceptional. Everything was better than expected except the desserts. The service was great, so was the ambiance. It is a family run place and owners do come up to you and talk to you in native tongue. I will definitely recommend this place to Indians and non-Indians alike who want a break from all the delicious Italian food!

Who would have thought my best meal in italy would have been at this Indian restaurant? I’ve been relatively clueless about Indian food for a while, but this place has shown me the light. Try the honey chicken or tika marsalla(check my spelling). These guys were also so nice and hospitable. Such a treat, that we went there twice. They also brought out 3 different types of Indian liquor for us to try, on the house. Love it!

After eating incredible italian food for days — we really needed to something else to assuage our taste buds with some spicy food and Haveli didn’t disappoint. The Chicken Vindaloo, naan and tadka daal were the off the charts! Amazing!
