Stopped by this morning, got a croissant, salame sandwich and a cup of cappuccino. Reasonable price and good service!

Hoping off the bus at the Piazza San Marco stop, we walked by Gran Caffè San Marco regularly. We especially admired their tiny vans parked in front of the restaurant(my kids always joked that the cars were just their size). With such an abundance of great restaurants nearby we never felt the need to try it. However, rain, an altered bus schedule due to construction, and empty stomachs from train traveling finally led us inside one night. We were met with very pleasant service and tons of patience as we hauled in our wet bags by the gentlemen working there. We ended up with a few slices of pizza and pastries. Clearly they were made off-site and were simply warmed up. We thought the food was cusi cusi – so-so. The pizza was bland and the sweets a bit stale. The bill was surprisingly high, but we were desperate for food and appreciate the kind service and sustenance. In a city known for amazing food, you could do better than Gran Caffe. However, if you’re in dire of need of food, they’re there to help you out!

This café is right next to my apartment and I love it. This café is where all the local Italians go. Really makes you feel apart of the culture!

So expensive and the food is terrible! I would defiantly not recommend this to anyone. The server was rude but over all it was really bad and when I asked him to pack my pizza up he if folded it in half and stuck into a paper bag with no box or plate or anything. Obviously the oil was all over my hand and I just threw it away. 14 euros down the drain.

After two really good meals elsewhere on previous nights, I thought I would try the cafeteria buffet part of this establishment. The best I can say is the cost was only € 10, and for that I got a large glass of Chianti and the buffet. The buffet was awful. What food should have been hot was not and nothing was very tasty except the desert, on which I filled up. I got my money’s worth, but I would rather pay more and get a good meal. As an addendum, there is another part of this establishment. It has a separate entrance on a different street and their own seating. This store serves pizza by the slice, calzones, etc. The pizza slices are warmed in an oven before serving. The service is quick and pleasant, the prices are reasonable, and the pizza, at least, is excellent. If I could have reviewed this separate part of the business by itself, they would have got 4 stars(one star off because inside seating is not that good). Too bad. Definitely try this place with the entrance on Via Cavour.

We were walking by to see the David and realized we only had so much time to eat something before we had to go in, so we decided to stop by this place, even though we knew it was a tourist trap, I mean how bad could it be? Well, it was really really bad, we ordered some pasta, and a red flag should have gone off when it only took the waitress about 3 minutes to bring out the food, we decided to try it anyway, but the food tasted worst than canned spaghetti that you get in the US, it was so bad that even after putting salt and Parmesan cheese it was still bad, it felt like the food had been sitting on a hot pan the whole day and they just serve it, not even checking it if it’s still good or not. I mean, we knew it was a tourist trap place because all the people eating there were tourists, but still, we didn’t think it would be so bad. None of us finished our food by the way, and even though most places will ask if everything was ok if you leave more than half your plate, the waitress didn’t ask, and of course didn’t care, I am sure she brings her own lunch from home.

This was a nice place until we got the bill. We were charged 27 euro for two pastries two coffees and some gelato… so not worth it!

Right before our train ride back to Milan, we realized we needed sustenance to carry us over during our 4 hour train ride. Most restaurants and shops being closed Sunday, our choices were limited. We ended up taking a quick bus ride to Gran Caffè San Marco, located at the corner of a central bus hub. There are essentially two separate shops. One side offers caffe, baked goods and sandwiches. The other side offers pizza, pasta and other hot bar selections. We ordered a tuna sandwich, a ham sandwich, spaghetti and a sausage pizza. The prices are very affordable. My spaghetti was ok. It wasn’t too salty but wasn’t exactly the most flavorful, either. My dad complained the sauce on the sausage pizza was too salty. This is a very convenient location with something for anything, but unfortunately, the Italian food is right under par.

This place is ridiculous. This is the last time in my life i get trapped here. The people here apparently think that there exists a sufficient large number of crazy people ready to pay 1.5EUROS a GLASSOFWATER(what the hell??) so that they can stay in business. I am not sure it is true, and honestly, i hope not. The cakes they sell are very average and incredibly expensive. I am not exactly sure what this place thinks it is. WAKEUP. To me, it was almost a joke. The tablecloth was so, so, so dirty, the quality so low, the overall interior terribly ugly: in which galaxy can anyone think it is reasonable to have such a bad place and charge such high prices? I will, never, never, under no circumstances go to this place again, as long as I remain a free person. And I advise you to be wise and do the same. Stay away.

Eat anywhere but at that place. It’s overrated, overpriced, portions are small and not very tasty. Stuffed peppers means half a stuffed pepper. I was charged 4e for glass water and my friend was charged also 4e for glass of red wine. Very disappointing. Never again

This place is HORRIBLE. We were attracted to the outdoor seating and variety of the menu, but the food was one of the worst meals we’ve all had in a party of 10. Everyone ordered something different and we were all disappointed(some even had to buy a Subway sandwich down the street afterwards). The margarita pizza was an overpriced € 12 and absolutely nothing special. There was a chicken in wine sauce dish that was literally boiled, flavorless chicken breast and mushy green beans. Dishes containing eggplant were burnt and mush, the carrots were over cooked, the pasta was UNDER cooked and inedible, and the gnocchi tasted like rocks. AVOIDTHISPLACE.

Two nights here and I feel like a regular. A very friendly environment and just about any bar/caffé food and drink you might like. Very friendly staff. I suspect previous reviewers simply do not understand Italian food culture and should eat at McDonalds.

Really not good. The gelato was bad. Caramel was more melted cream than anything. The toilet did not flush so don’t #2 there. The employee was banging on the door as soon as I got in.
