The best panini I had in Firenze. The bread of panini is warm and soft, not hard as other shops. Also, the portion is the best!!! You need to try it!!!

One of the best meals I had in Italy. Their schiachiatta is out of this world delicious yet simple, with superbly fresh ingredients. I had the mozzarella, rocket and tomato sandwich both times I went. The best part of Da Vinattieri is you feel like you’ve found somewhere special, well off the beaten path. Dont miss their coccoli, fried bread balls, the ones with truffle were superb. Meal was cheap, delicious and tourist free, who could ask for more. House wine wasn’t half bad either!

Hidden on a side street, this tiny sandwich shop had a wide selection of sandwiches with room for personalization. All their sandwiches are made on great traditional schiacciata bread. I ordered a pork sandwich with truffle cheese and arugula as well as a ham sandwich with pâté and artichoke hearts which was surprisingly an awesome combo. I had seen a review on Unilocal for their sandwich with nutella & ricotta which although was not on the menu, I regret not asking for. Either way, great little spot for a bite & they serve a pitcher of wine instead of water! Gotta love Italy.

I had a sandwich with fennel salami(finocchiona), balsamic, and fresh cheese, and she got the tripe(la trippa) sandwich. Both sandwiches were excellent, and I wish I was still in Florence so I could go back here. All of the ingredients had amazing flavor, and the bread was fresh and perfectly salted. The price is very low as well, all the sandwiches are 4 euros and glasses of wine are only 2. Everyone was very friendly, and the place seems new, or decorated very recently. I definitely recommend trying the tripe, and I would go back if I ever return to Florence.

The reward for another long walk… Florentine street food. Focaccia sandos and Coccoli, fried bread stuffed with Tuscan ham. I also had to try a Lampredotto panini with salsa verde. da’ Vinattieri hole in the wall worth the search.

Lunch today cost 4 Euros. Cheap! That was the price for my porchetta schiacciata sandwich. Delicious and flavorful, a bit on the salty side, but it worked very well on that warm, slightly toasted bread. It’s a hole in the wall where you’ll have to stand outside to eat. There’s limited space where you can rest your drinks on these converted bicycles

I found this local gem on accident as I strolled through one of the many winding Firenze streets. The line out the door intrigued me. Each day there was a small crowd gathered around this place. People of all ages happily stuffing their faces with schiachiatta(like a panini) which is toasted to perfection. I got a dessert schiachiatta — Nutella and ricotta. The sweetness of the Nutella and the creaminess of the ricotta contrasted nicely with the slight saltiness of their crisp baguette. So good! It seems to be frequented largely by locals which is always a good thing.
