It may be a stroke of luck that our first and only experience here was nothing short of superb, but the pizza, and the in house chianti was utterly amazing. My wife and I were staying at the nearby hostel for our honeymoon(I know, hostel for honeymoon, but that was only for the first night), within walking distance, we stumbled upon this small, hole-in-the-wall, restaurant. Nothing fancy, centered around sports, not the most friendly towards tourists but that’s perfect! Why is that perfect? Because if you’re looking for only the most Italian, the most grounded, the most organic, the least touristy type of food, you look for places like this one, and this place truly hit the spot with their pizzas. We have tried four other places on this trip and this one was hands down the best tasting pizza. It’s hard to explain but if you’re staying at any nearby hostels, do make the walk to this location before taking the bus to the center of Florence.
