After being in Italy for a week, the new husband and I were craving food from home. We are from the San Francisco Bay Area so we know our Chinese food, and I needed rice pronto. We ordered three classic dishes that we thought couldn’t be messed up: Cantonese fried rice, chow mein, and chicken with veggies. We noticed the price to be incredibly cheap but it’s due to the small portions. The fried rice was unacceptably terrible, like they threw all their fridge leftover spam and frozen peas with old rice. The chicken and veggies didn’t taste fresh, and we didn’t even recognize the chow mein. If this restaurant was back in the States, it would probably get not even a half star. I do give them credit for achieving the«wok» taste, but if you are in Florence and craving Chinese food, search elsewhere.

Chinese cuisine is not widely found in beautiful Firenze– so I give this traditional Chinese restaurant 3 stars for being good enough to return too– but maybe not write home about. Their menu is huge and the variety is great. I think for a visitor to the city the allure may be lost since one may return home to more Asian options. For international students however, this restaurant should be on your radar. A little variety is always pleasant.
