We stumbled across Boccadama as it was very close to where we were staying, and we were very impressed. We started with the prosciutto and mozzarella appetizer, and it was perfect. My husband had the steak Florentine, and I had a pasta dish with rigatoni, sausage and truffle sauce. My pasta was amazing. The sauce was light but full of flavor, and the sausage and truffle were a perfect combination. I’d recommend Boccamada if you’re nearby.

I highly recommend this restaurant. Cheese plate was amazing. There were three different cheese and fruit and honey for dipping. The lasagna was delicious. The sauce was rich. It was layered with cheese and noodles all of which melted together and melted in your mouth. The service was fabulous.

Excellent food with a homey feel. Our tour guide recommended this place and we are very happy we went back. Both dishes we got were excellent. The spicy pasta sauce was my favorite here.

Caprese was yummy. Steak was delicious. Ravioli was good, just would have liked it hot, instead of warm. Good wine. Had chocolate salami for desert… DONOTLEAVEWITHOUTTRYINGTHECHOCOLATESALAMIDESSERT. Yes, all caps… it was that good. Great ambience. Had a late dinner without the crowds… romantic, without crowds…

One of my favorite places in Florence. The food was amazing. I was really impress with the customer service and food. I had the ravioli and the home made lasagna and my mother had the T-bone. Wow, now this is why I’m in Italy. We were both satisfied.

Decent outside eatery by the Santa de Croce church were Michelangelo, Galileo, Machiavelli, and several others are buried. Great shopping in the area as well. If I could give a half star I would say this is a 3.5 eatery. My carbonara was fabulous but the bacon wasn’t crisp.

Had a late dinner, food was OK, portion is enough, pasta was good, carpaccio is something I would not recommend Over priced Vs. quality Will not make the walk to come here but would drop by if I was around

We went to this restaurant while in Florence we observed the waiters take the basket of bread from the tables removed the pieces that people chewed up and put back in the basket and recycle the used bread to give to people who just came in. We didn’t take bread! Also saw them taking all the silverware that«looked unused» and put it back into the clean bin of utensils. The bathroom was stinky and dirty. It was the worse restaurant we ate in while in Florence. On top of that they char a cover and service charge. Food wasn’t good either. The tour guide recommended this place and it was not good. Do not recommend this place

This is a solid dining option if you’re in the Santa Croce neighborhood. We had the tagliatelle alla bolognese and the ravioli with a sage-Parmesan sauce. Both dishes had a lot of flavor and everything was obviously home-made and freshly prepared! Excellent service as well.

Our favorite dinner in Florence — we ended up coming here three nights in a row. The food was well-prepared, not greasy and just in the right proportion. We ended up trying the gnocchi, lasagna, and veggie ravioli. They had a decent selection of wine, a great view onto the square, and an attentive and friendly staff. We sat outside each time, so I cannot comment on the interior setup. Would go back in an instant!

We went to this adorable and well-situated restaurant with low expectations. Usually it seemed that whenever a restaurant had the perfect view it was a tourist trap. That was definitely not the case with this gem. The service was the best and most pleasant we experienced in the entire week, Dominic was pleasant and professional and expertly handled a crush of visitors who all had to be somewhere. «Quick-Quick.» Not sure what I loved better-my husband’s rigatoni with spicy sausage or my spinach ravioli with brown sage butter. All delicious and my mouth is watering just recalling it. And the bread –so fresh! This is a can’t — miss spot in Florence.

Of our dinners in Florence, this was one of our very favorites. Great atmosphere and a view of Santa Croce. The weather was a little cool the night we dined so outside tables were not available, we walked up without reservations for dinner and were seated right away. We started off our meal with glasses of Chianti, a cheese plate, and bruschetta. Now cheese plates are one of my most favorite things and this one did not disappoint. Beautiful presentation, three types of cheese with assorted fruits, honey, and walnuts. The bruschetta was great as well, three large pieces pilled with fresh tomatoes. For our main courses we had the lasagna with meat sauce and the large macaroni served with traditional wild boar sauce. Both entrees were good but the stand outs were really the antipasti and dessert courses. We finished our meal with the tiramisu and panna cotta with wild berry sauce, accompanied by lemoncello. The panna cotta was one of the best desserts we had all trip, and the wild berry sauce was the perfect accompaniment to the richness of the dessert. There was a lively table of locals celebrating a birthday sitting behind us while we dined, it was fun and gave us a glimpse into everyday life. We will definitely be back again.

Our guide recommended this restaurant as the best lasagna in Florence. The restaurant themselves said that it’s the best lasagna in the«area»(being humble). For me, it’s the best lasagna ever … This is why… It’s not only about the taste, but more towards the texture. I love it as it is cooked to perfection and you do not even need to «bite» it, the lasagna just«melt» in your mouth. My wife order«gnocchi», which is another great choice. It’s difficult to explain but the taste and texture is just perfect(not the same like the ones we have in the US). We paired those with local Chianti … Omg, they’re just perfect ! We always closed with Tiramisu for all of our meals in Italy … The desert is perfect as well. It was a great lunch in a tourist area but you felt like«locals». This is what we like about this restaurant !

I was happy with my rigatoni with salsiccia + truffle(9EUR). The pasta was plated with 2 fresh sprigs of rosemary stuck into a small pile of minced truffle, like a Christmas tree in dirt. The ground salsiccia was mixed in with the noodles. I wouldn’t say the salsiccia and truffle were a match made in heaven, but I liked my dish. My friend, on the other hand, wasn’t a fan of her lasagna pesto(8.5EUR). I think it should have been served hotter, because soft gooey greasy lasagna doesn’t taste good lukewarm. The menu had a section of «traditional Italian sodas,» separate from the other drinks. The description for the aranciata(4EUR) mentioned fresh oranges, so we thought the sodas would be made with fresh fruit. However, the arianciata was actually just a Pellegrino can, and the gazzosa(5EUR) was just a Lurisia bottle, both with a fairly high markup. Oops. 1.5EUR per person cover charge. Pay at the counter on your way out. The outdoor seating area offers a lovely view of Santa Croce, and the dining room is nicely furnished with cheery yellow walls, green curtains, wine bottles and crates on all sides.

One of our favorites in all of Italy. A Rick Steve’s recommendation and it delivered. Great view out onto the square, we had 4 different appetizers and they were all excellent, kind and quick staff, couldn’t have gone better. The steak was perfect, wine selection was top-knotch. I recommend this highly to anyone in or visiting Florence, just wonderful and I can’t wait to go back.

Worst experience in Florence! Tagliata — ordered medium rare — was done or better said dead! Second try was a little better, but bad quality of meat and bad cooked! But the worst thing was: we were asked to change table because they needed it for other guests(to put the tables together). 5 minutes later we were asked completely to leave our table and to finish our drink inside, because they need the table also!!! Worst service ever.

Not even worth one star. 1) meat was not medium-well as requested but very well done. Luckily they changed it but so we couldnt eat together… 2) other gueat came and we were asked right after dinner(!) still having wine if we can change the table. That was ok for us but then 5min later the waiter came again and asked us to leave the table and have a drink inside at the bar(it was a hot summer night, nobody was sitting inside). We decided to leave and were really pissed. Especially since you have to pay extra in Italy for having a table and then the waiter forces you to leave to make room for new guests. Not OK! There are def better restaurants.

(4÷7÷2014) Location, location, location! The spot is prime time for piazza watching near Santa Croce. There is a cover if you’re just hanging. Had the Pasta e Fagioli, Bruschetta, and Toscani Crostini. Large portions, fresh ingredients, delicious. Prices are steep, mostly you’re paying for the overhead. Service was attentive when around, but not always present, and a slight condescension towards tourists(which is pretty much everyone here).

Wonderful! 4 years ago we had our wedding reception/dinner here and it was the best meal we had in Italy! Today it is just as fantastic! The lasagna and pappardelle are fantastic! Definitely a great choice for lunch or dinner!
