The sea food risotto was really good! The place was definitely more modern and upbeat! Slightly over-priced.

We went there on the recommendation of our hotel. Pizzas a are excellent: very thin dough, good cheese, and good tomato sauce. I remove two star for the poor service and the bread which is below average. Prices are ok.

So we wanted to sit outside by the street. Really more fun getting to see as people and live go by but the seats were full so we decided to wait for a table to open up on a beautiful old leather couch by the entrance. Ordered a prosecco and a chard for the wife. Gigantic pours, mega big ups. That trend continued for the rest of the dinner. Got seated and started to order. Great great yummy stuff. The salami plate was on point, the mozzarella skewers were small for my taste but the tomatoes were nice and firm and the mozzarella was def fresh. Lasagna was wonderfully cooked but be warned it is extremely rich. Pasta perfectly cooked and lucky me, single person Florentine steaks are orderable; yes I did and yes was awesome. Tend to feel that were in the states I would order median rare its too rare here, so I order medium and its ever so slightly more than my customary medium rare but still, yes, fantastic. Enjoy.

We were so fortunate to be renting an apartment on Borgo Ognissanti and discovered Baccus by accident one evening while in search of free wi-fi! LOL! Boy… are we glad we did! The first night we came here it was probably 10pm and sat outside. I just wanted to sip a glass of amaretto while checking emails(I noticed they had an extensive bar inside the restaurant the décor is lovely as is the ladies restroom… just fyi). To my surprise, the waiter said they didn’t have it! Next to Lemoncello I thought amaretto was a popular ITALIAN liquor? I will not hold this against them b/c all in all it is a lovely restaurant but note to the owner EVERY bar in the universe carries amaretto! ;o) My husband and I were content to sip coffee and tea and eat biscotti. We met a fun couple from Chile and stayed at Baccus much later than we planned. Because of the good experience, we decided to have lunch here our last day in Firenze prior to meeting our Chianti wine tour. They were accommodating because they knew we were in a bit of a time crunch to meet our tour. We quickly ordered a seafood pizza(wow oh wow!) and a margarita pizza(fresh and delish) and split a caprese salad so creatively and beautifully plated that I have since imitated it. Also a shout out to our server, Dorian, who went above and beyond calling various taxi companies trying to track down our Garmin that my husband inadvertently left in our taxi earlier in the day on our journey up to San Minioto. We hope to come back to Florence someday and will definitely stop in at Baccus!

We smelled the wonderful aroma and went in. Our server was helpful and made us dishes not on the menu. Yummo
