local English pub where you can play darts, watch tv and drink some good beer. Good place to go when you wanna hangout with a small group of friends.

Awesome local bar, we went on a quiet night but enjoyed the atmosphere and the cheap beers. Their tap selection was full of delicious beers, most of which we hadn’t seen elsewhere in Italy.

This is a real dive bar. It’s just like any dive bar in America. The bartenders are cool and will joke with you. The first night my wife and I went in, we ended up chatting with Andrea behind the bar. We were just there for a drink or two… and then suddenly we’ve made friends with half the locals in the place. One of the bartenders who was working is originally from Australia. They both spoke English. We stumbled through conversations with locals for hours in broken English and my horrible Italian, using them to help translate when necessary. It was so much fun to meet real people and talk to them. This was one of the highlights of our trip. There was a group of art students out for a drink. They were from America and England. We had interesting conversation with them, as well. The bar was clearly friendly to foreigners, but still had a nice local feel. There’s 5 beers on tap. Drinks are cheap. We didn’t spend much money at all, and we even tipped generously.(some restaurants and elsewhere don’t expect or care to be tipped. I found at bars they’re pretty open to it.) So on our first night, we checked the time and it was suddenly 3:30am. Oops. So much for waking up early the next day. Second night, we went back. It was so much fun the night before that we had to. We meant to just drop in for a drink or two and leave early. We ended up chatting with a local restaurant owner for hours about Italian life and the business, tourists, etc… suddenly it’s 2:30am and we’re rolling out the door. Woke up late the next day again. My advice — drink some water in between all the cheap drinks. Have fun, and draw something on a drink coaster to have it hung behind the bar.(you’ll notice quite a few decent artists have their work up there) This place is within crawling distance of Hotel Balestri.
