We were driving from La Spezia to Varenna and needed to stop for food before we turned on each other. We randomly stopped here and hunted down this out of the way joint. No English, friends. This was the first time we really had to rely on mangled Italian and hand gestures. This did not stop our waitress at all, who spoke to us as if we could understand her and were just pretending. From fish and chips(on the menu as «fish and chips» — go figure), to pizza to zucchini flower gnocchi — everything was yummy. It certainly seemed to be a hit with the lunch crowd, and I don’t disagree so I’ll call it a win.
