I was very disappointed by my experience at this place, especially after I had been told by a local that it was the best pizza in town. I ordered the Pizza Specialità: mozzarella, mushrooms, bell peppers, sausage, and ham. The pizza came to the table and appeared«wet.» That’s the best way I can describe it. There were little puddles of either grease or water cupped in the folded pieces of ham. Um… ew? That really turned me off, to say the least. The taste, however, was not bad at all. It wasn’t mind blowing(when you find yourself dreaming about better pizza you’ve had in the U.S. while you are eating pizza in Italy, you know you’ve made a mistake). One of the things that most bothered me was the fact that the mushrooms on the pizza were from a can — not fresh. I can go to really average pizza places and get fresh mushrooms on my pizza. What a bummer. Again, the pizza was not bad, it was good. But it didn’t blow my mind. What forced me to give this place 2 stars instead of 3 was the dessert. Upon entering the restaurant, there was a beautiful cake display with berry cheesecake, chocolate sponge cake, and a few others. I had them in mind as soon as I began eating, and ordered a slice of the chocolate cake even though I was beyond stuffed from the pizza. A simple chocolate sponge cake with powdered sugar topping. It was dry as a bone. I literally had to follow each bite with a giant gulp of water in order to get it down. What a major disappointment.
