This is the fanciest restaurant I ate in in Como. I normally stay away from higher end restaurant, however, I was on expenses do treated myself. The quality of food was very good. I got spaghetti with clams to start which was a little on the salty side, I enjoyed it none the less. For the main course I got lamb cutlets which were lovely, really great flavors. Including a glass of wine and an espresso, the meal came to € 54(incl charge for service and water). If this was home in Ireland I would say it’s about the right value for money, however, comparing with general value for money in Italy Hosterietta is pricey. The service was excellent, however, the restaurant itself lacked atmosphere. I think perhaps it is a little posh and formal, while everywhere else I ate in Italy was casual and more social.
