This place I thought it’s pretty good. Nice ambience, nice fresh food and outstanding customer service. People are very attentive and work hard. For pizza or for seafood is good. That’s what the people around seem to order much. I think the price is ok. Not cheap but ok.

A friend of mine highly recommended I try this restaurant after he had an amazing bowl of Bolognese. I was determined to try authentic Bolognese after seeing the photos and hearing his rave reviews. All he sent me was some vague directions and a photo. But determined to make it happen, I set out to find restaurant. Well the directions were not as clear as I had originally thought so I walked around for about 15 minutes before I just happen to stumble on it. When I did they were not even open yet and I was the first guest. I was kinda a little disappointed but the staff assured me that they would be opening soon and asked me to go ahead and take a seat. I did and with wi-fi connected and nowhere to be I waited while they prepared and opened. To my surprise when I tried to order the Bolognese I was dissuaded by a few of the staff members. They considered it a standard dish in the area and nothing special. They really wanted me to order something with seafood which they considered more of a local specialty. I had just eaten seafood the night before so I didn’t really want seafood. But when in Rome, right?! So instead of Bolognese I ordered the seafood risotto because I had just had seafood pasta the night before. The risotto was good. There were large pieces of fresh seafood throughout including squid, octopus, shrimp and scallops. It’s not for the fair-weather seafood fan because the flavor of the sea is prominent. Although I enjoyed the risotto, I think I would have preferred the Bolognese because that’s what I had my heart set on when I arrived. This is a restaurant I could have seen myself eating at again. The food is affordable and the staff was friendly. There is dining inside and outside. I sat outside because it was a beautiful fall day. The restaurant is perfectly located in the city center which makes it a great place to stop before a night out or after a day of exploration. Although they sell dessert there are a few gelaterias and pastry shops nearby as well to grab dessert after your meal.

We were walking around Catania and were ready for dinner. My husband found this place and said there was one Unilocal review! So off we went to find it… in the historical center of the city… which at night can be a little spooky. We were seated right away and the place was full of couples and families. English menus and a nice waitress who spoke very good English was a plus. Friendly service, kid friendly, impromptu live entertainment, fresh fish and good food. Dessert was a lemon sorbet that I wish I could duplicate. Pizza was meh and risotto was okay. Wine and ambiance fabulous!
