Civico 14

So we decided to give Civico 14 a try based ont he numerous reviews on trip advisor and the fact that most nights when we walked by they were packed.
We came here on our last night in Cannobio and maybe we just expected too much. Our party of 6 was seated immediately (since we were the only ones there at 8:00 on a Saturday night) and at first the service started out very friendly.
Then, most of the couples ordered an appetizer (salad or pasta) to share and then separate main courses. In addition, since there were 2 pregnant ladies in the group and the rest had been drinking beer in the afternoon, no one ordered wine or even a beer. I think this annoyed our waiter because the «friendliness factor» quickly decreased.
Overall the food tasted good and the pasta was definitely homemade. Although, for the price, portion size and «italian feeling» I wasn’t overall very impressed. It’s a place I would go back to if the group wanted to, but I don’t think my husband and I would choose to go there on our own.
