I was very underwhelmed. It may have been an off night, though. I had the pasta sampler. The pasta was overcooked and the sauces were not that flavorful. There was one other table tonight. The server was not rude but not very welcoming. The place is cute at least.

This gem was as good as advertised in all respects: hospitality, service and, most importantly, food. My wife had the three pasta sampler to start, which was outstanding across the board. While she preferred the tortellini, I happily helped finish to tagliatelle bolognese, which was just about perfect. My spaghetti alla carbonara was excellent as well. As for the main dishes: my lamb was falling-off-the-bone tender, cooked and served in its own juices. The roast potatoes were the perfect accompaniment. My wife had the vitello marsala, which was at the same level as my lamb. The desserts were light and crisp(torta de limone for her and torta di Nonna for me). The wine list was more than adequate, with several strong choices that didn’t break the bank, but also a few high-end Super Tuscans that might have made this a six-star review. We may go back to Bologna just to eat here.

We had lunch here yesterday and it was fantastic. Great service, wine and food. Probably the meal we’ve had in Italy. The tortellini el panna and tagliatelle were exceptional. Can’t recommend this place enough!

A little grandma and her family runs this place. After reading the Unilocal reviews, we had to try out this place. Unilocal didn’t list any hours, but for dinner, it opens around 7:30, although a group was already there before 7:30. The pasta dishes were fresh and flavorful. House wine was bold and refreshing. For second course we had steak cutlet with capers and roasted rabbit, they both melted in our mouth. For side, we had roasted potatoes. Prices were very reasonable. This was the best meal in Italy for us, after traveling through Milan, Venice and Florence.

My husband and our two toddlers had the pleasure of eating in this hidden gem of a restaurant on a beautiful Tuesday night. The restaurant is located in a hidden courtyard, away from the tourist traps. We had a great meal. I ordered a pasta dish with three different pastas in three different sauces. It was delicious! My husband ordered a lasagna, which was also great. Then we had the lamb with potatoes, which was amazing! The lamb fell off the bone and was so tender and well spiced and the potatoes were perfectly roasted! Overall a great meal.

We read about this place in Unilocal. One review by Jeff R said they’d eaten in over 100 restaurants in Bologna and this one simply was the best! We agree! Quaint — quiet — happy — Grace was delightful! She made suggestions for the first course. Grant had ravioli and I had the tattiglioni sp with fungi — wine — homemade ice cream — worth the walk from our hotel! Thank you!

We’ve dined at over 100 restaurants in Italy over the past few years and this one is our favorite. It is owned and run by a husband and wife team who manage to be both very stylish and friendly at the same time. The location is relatively close to the main piazza, but just out of the way enough to keep most tourists away. The clientele were primarily locals. The food is classic trattoria style(simple), but amazing. We had tagliatelle con funghi(with mushrooms) and tagliatelle bolognese — both to die for.(I’m mystified at how they make the dishes taste so good in Italy with only one or two ingredients.) We also had grilled vegetables which included some of the best roasted potatoes I’ve ever had anywhere. Highly recommended.

This was the best meal we had in Italy! Imagine eating a fillet that melts in your mouth while appreciating a 1300’s medieval tower. Grazziella(Grace) told us the story of the towers and how the two families Galluzzi and Carbonese were enemies, yet their children fell in love and secretly married. When the families found out, they were murdered. Grace is appropriately named. She has such good taste that we just asked her to choose our wines and desserts for us, and it was perfect! Highly recommend this gem if you visit Bologna.

This was, arguably, my favorite meal of our whole trip through Italy. A hidden gem in a tiny courtyard. The pasta was incredible. I’d recommend starting with the artichokes, and getting the tortellini or the pasta sampler. My friends and I loved it so much, we ordered a second dinner after we finished our first. Then we came back again the next night.

Trattoria la Corte Galluzzi is a hidden gem, tucked away in a courtyard off of a tourist drag. My girlfriend and I almost missed it as we wandered downtown Bologna in search of an authentic Emilia Romagna dining experience. Fortunately the sound of wine glasses clinking turned my head and we investigated… One of the things we remember most about la Corte Galluzzi is the service. After being seated we were served by a lovely older lady – she was so friendly and full of suggestions for us. For her first course my girlfriend ordered a trio of tortellini prepared with different sauces – each was delicious. I had the tortellini with bolognese sauce – a simple but good tomato and meat sauce. For a second course we shared the scallopini bolognese, which was a delicious, thinly pounded filet of veal topped with cheese. We had some of the best cuisine Bologna has to offer. For dessert our wonderful server helped us pick out the torta alla nonna(a lemon custard-filled torte topped with powdered sugar) and frutti di bosco(mixed berry) semifreddo. We topped it off with digestivi and I loosened my belt a notch. My girlfriend keeps telling me that it’s hard to throw a rock in Bologna without hitting an amazing restaurant, but I would definitely recommend this one to visitors. It appeared to be popular with the locals too.
