Piazza Maggiore

At the end of the street which links the station to the city centre, this piazza is impressive, very wide. The statue in the middle portraits Neptune, god of the seas.

C’est la place principale de Bologne, impossible de la rater, elle est sur la liste des choses à voir dans cette ville à l’architecture médievale.
On y trouve de nombreux monuments dont l’église San Petronio, à voir.
Elle accueille parfois des événements pour le plus grand plaisir des habitants.
On y trouve aussi l’office de tourisme de la ville, et quelques cafés/​restaurants à éviter absolument pour le très mauvais rapport qualité/​prix.

Piazza Maggiore is surrounded by the most important buildings of the medieval city: Basilica di San Petronio, Palazzo dei Notai, Palazzo d’Accursio, Palazzo del Podestà and Palazzo dei Bianchi. It is the preferred meeting place of the Bolognese who gather in the shadow of the statue of Neptune. Free internet is available.

Man kann sich richtig treiben lassen und entdeckt immer wieder etwas Neues.

ab.

Très jolie place et intéressante à découvrir d’un point de vue historique. Elle mérite d’être vu^^

My favourite square in Italy, partly because it brings back so many happy memories of being in Bologna many times, but also because it is very beautiful. It’s right in the centre of Bologna and bordered by Romanesque and Gothic buildings, a basilica, various palaces, an art gallery and a fountain. I have enjoyed sitting on the steps of one of the buildings in summer (as others do here) just to watch the people go by. Sometimes there is live music too or other events.

Der Piaza Maggiore bildet das Zentrum der wunderschönen Universitätsstadt Bologna. Der grosse Platz ist umgeben von Geschichte. Hier befindet sich das Palazzio dei Notai, die Basilika San Petronino, welches die fünftgrößte Kirche der Welt ist. Hier befindet sich auch der berühmte Neptunbrunnen aus dem 15. Jahrhundert.
Egal zu welcher Tages– oder Nachtzeit man über diesen Platz schlendert. Stets ist hier was los. Am schönsten empfängt man die besondere Stimmung bei einem Cappucino in einem der Cafés oder zum Sonnenuntergang bei einem Campari mitten auf der Piazza.
