Great casual place in the middle of Citta Alta. It is hidden away in a side alley off the main shopping street, but just ask anyone, they know where it is. We had a polenta appetizer, casoncelli, and a pizza. The portions were pretty big. The menu is pretty big too. They have all the classic local and italian dishes. The food was delicious although the place got loud at times, with all the families with small kids. This is definitely a place for groups.

Truly amazing food in the heart of Citta Alta. If you’re looking for some real Italian food where locals go — come to Il Circolino! Our friend from Bergamo told us about this place. We came here around siesta time, so when we finished eating, we’ve realised that no one else is here, not counting us, an owner lady and some really old people reading newspapers. And we still felt welcomed! Interior is really comfy — dark wooden tables and chairs, big bar, where you can drink your espresso and leave, newspapers, old wine bottles, some photos on the walls and a lot of people. True Italian vibes. Menu is in Italian or English. They have variety of Italian goods here — pasta, pizza, main dishes, everything is really tasty and in good prices! We’ve decided to take a fixed menu for, as I recall, 14 euros, with pasta, main dish and a wine/coffee and water. I don’t remember what we ordered exactly but I think I’ve had something similar to ravioli with ragu and bacon, ahhhhhhh, amazing!!! Main dish was simply big amount of meat with fries or mashed potatoes, nothing too crazy, but tasty as well. Wine — omnomnom. Food is damn good and the whole place is so cute. One of the old guys smiled at me and said«cin cin» when I was drinking my wine. The owner of this place, nice lady, was speaking only Italian, but we somehow managed to talk with her — Italian gestures, «molto bene» and«perfetto» were enough to communicate and leave big smiles on our faces. Grazie mille!
