Tolles Hotel mit gutem Frühstücksbüffet. WLAN, Shuttle in die City, Fahrrad und Wasser inklusive. Weinprobe im Hotel ist zu empfehlen. Essen würde ich eher«außerhalb». Fußweg 19 Minuten sind tolle Restaurants.

This is a great choice to get away but close enough to see anything in Florence. You are closer to wine country also and easy to get to/from Florence. Can ride was 15 – 20 euros to or from the city. It is quiet resort, with beautiful grounds, good food & service and a pool. The pool was perfect for us when it was 100 degrees but great for families too. Rooms are large and unique along with very quiet. Wifi was horrible most the time there but really my only complaint.

If you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of Florence the Villa Olmi Resort in Bagno A Ripoli offers a quiet oasis. This MGallery Collection hotel is located just 10 minutes outside of the heart of Florence, southeast of the Arno River. The lush gardens and scenic views of the Tuscan hillside add charm to this historic country estate. All of the rooms at the Villa Olmi Resort are furnished with antique furniture and paintings so you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. While some may prefer a more modern setting I thought that the Villa Olmi Resort was very romantic and charming. The rooms are older, but do provide modern amenities such as a mini bar, plasma television, Jacuzzi bathtub, free WIFI, hair dryers, and an in-room safe. Before we booked this room we were considering staying in the Tuscan countryside, but we were worried that if we stayed too far outside of Florence we would get bored. The Villa Olmi allowed us to feel like we were in the countryside without actually being in the countryside. The one downside to staying in Bagno A Ripoli was the cab fees. We spent 150 euros on cab fare during our three day stay. The most expensive cab rides were the 50 euro cab from the airport and the 40 euro cab fare to the train station. The Villa did provide a shuttle service, but there were only two shuttles in the morning at 9am and 10 am and two shuttles in the evening at 5pm and 6pm. Most restaurants in Florence do no serve dinner until 7pm so if you take the evening shuttle back to the villa your only dining options are at the resort or walking/taking a taxi into Bagno A Ripoli. None of the restaurants near the villa were appealing so we did dine at the resort twice and while the food was good for«hotel food» the food was not great. Breakfast on the other hand was absolutely fantastic. For 16 euros we were treated to a buffet of exceptional fruit, pastries, Italian meats and cheeses, juice and wonderful espresso. While this resort is very pretty and romantic I personally think it is more convenient to stay in the historic heart of Florence. If the Villa Olmi would provide later evening shuttles at 8pm and 9pm I would definitely stay here again.
