Loved this place! Seasoned servers don’t miss a beat. Sod burning in the fireplace. Beautiful antique prints adorn the walls. Comfortable seating. Smaller bar. Nice lunch and dinner menu. And a solid wine menu too. Local lobster tank so you can choose your dinner. The fish chowder is amazing. If you think you are a fish stew or chowder aficionados, than this is a must! All local seafood and the flavor is outstanding. Excellent fresh mixed greens salad w local goat cheese, pine nuts & balsamic syrup. Grilled chicken w champ(mashed potatoes w scallions), warm chocolate cake, lamb shank. It’s all good! An over all nice dining experience, very good prices, & delicious food. Wifi too.

Good food. Service was a bit slow but they were busy. It’s right next to Crough Patrick so it’s full of tourists hence the overpriced meals. I got chowder which was yummy.

I always visit this place when I’m in Westport. The food is guaranteed to be of high quality every time. Service is great. I would recommend their chowder. They welcome children and provide crayons etc to keep them occupied.

We stumbled onto this gem of a pub, and were just pulled in… The atmosphere is still trad. Irish, as Quintin D. noted in ’09, and it makes the place really cosy, and very welcoming. The choice of seafood was so enormous, which made my girlfriend’s day even better than it already was; it was just amazing! She had such a hard time to choose… and what she chose in the end was so tasty! Luckily for me they also had a superb steak on the menu, which was prepared a la 5 star restaurant, my goodness, that was unsurpassable! We selected their Chianti, and we were not disappointed either with the wine… My girlfriend has been won over from white to red! Whenever we are back in the region, we ensure to hop in here as well

Nice stuff and lovely food. Both the sole and the stew we ordered were very good. Strongly recommend this restaurant.

Very good food and bar. I came here after I visited Croagh Patrick, since its only a 5 minute walk and I had the club sandwich with fries which was very good, and fairly large(which was nice since I worked up quite an appetite). The menu is fairly large, and there was a large list of specials on a chalkboard, all of which looked good. I would highly recommend this establishment.

The first comment from my other half as we walked through the doors was«this looks promising»… and indeed it did! The daily specials board was as long as a really long daily specials board and included everything from fresh lobster to monkfish & scampi — not surprisingly we find the place listed on — very plush! The atmosphere even in the middle of the day was relaxed and comfortable(not easy for a pub to pull this off!) and the décor is trad Irish, clean, old and immediately likeable. We went for steak(fish bedammed) — the special fillet(22Euro) and sirloin(21.95)…a big lunch but we were hungry and there was wine last night… lots of wine… did I mention the wine? If I were to quibble — and I am, the meat was over cooked in both dishes — medium instead of medium rare, not a huge crime and being Irish we said nothing and told the very helpful waitress that everything was great(in fairness it was close enough) Our son loved the lobster tank… we took one home, we called it pinchey.

Oben Restaurant, unten Pub. Zwei komplett unterschiedliche Welten.
