Voya Seaweed baths are an absolute must if you are in the Strandhill area. A seaweed bath is a truly unique spa experience and Voya serves to give you the best one. The spa itself is lovely, a very welcoming reception greets you, with water and coffee for patrons. The Voya products are displayed in the reception and the staff are very helpful discussing the products. Trust me, I asked a lot of questions! We booked in for the double deluxe bathing room, which had two baths with two showers/steam units(€ 60). The baths are free standing baths and they were filled halfway with perfect temperature water and of course, the seaweed. The staff member who showed us our suite, explained that the seaweed will release a gelatinous substance that we were encouraged to rub into our skin and hair. The properties of seaweed are pretty extensive, such as anti aging and relief for aches and pains etc. In total we had 50 mins in the room, so that broke down to about 45 mins in the bath and a quick 5 min shower. The shower had all the Voya products, so I enjoyed testing them. You are recommended to pat the skin dry after the bath, but I hopped in the shower to test the products. The only downside to the facility is the lack of a relaxation suite for after your bath/treatment. I would have loved to put on a robe and to sit and relax for an hour. I felt a bit rushed out the door once my time was done. I just didn’t want the experience to end. I picked up a few of the Voya products on my way out, really excited to try them. I hope the offer worldwide shipping so I can restock!

Strandhill really does have it all! Escape from the bustle of the town, or the beach and enter Voya! The building and rooms are small, but have a lot to offer. The wood panelled reception area displays all the Voya beauty products that you’re likely to be tempted by on the way out. The staff at the desk have always been nothing less than helpful. The baths are delightful, all the seaweed is gathered locally. You must steam yourself off before getting into the bath, and make sure to hydrate regularly with the jugs of water that are supplied. You really have to get stuck into the seaweed and smear the oils all over, its especially great for your hair. Then once you’re finished, have a shower using Voya’s gels and shampoos, which smell divine. Once I’ve washed off, I tend to get back into the bath for a final 5 minutes to absorb the oils, and then I just dab myself off with the towels supplied, so my skin can absorb all that goodness! There is one double room as far as I know, and the rest are single baths, so if you’re looking for a double, do book in advance, particularly at busy times of the year. I wish you had a full hour in the baths as opposed to 50 minutes(which is realistically 40 minutes once you’ve changed out of and back into your clothes), so be wary that the time spent soaking in the bath, doesn’t run away from you!

Nothing better than a seaweed bath to relax, detoxify and sooth the skin. Whenever I’m down in sligo it’s either Voya or enniscrone seaweed baths I head to. Both very different. Voya seaweed baths are more up scare. The reception is full of their products and a lovely waiting area with tea and drink facilities. The seaweed bath rooms are lovely with the olé school bath filled with the heavenly gooey, slimey seaweed, a shower and the built in steamer. I love the steamer experience because you get so nice and toasty and opens up all the pores before you relax into your bath. The staff are great, although I haven’t had any of the other treatments such as massages etc I hear ther fab! A must when down in sligo!!!

Great experience Friendly staff and all round loved the single seaweed bath. A bit strange at first to get into a hot bath filled with slimy seaweed but after a couple of mins it was ok. I emerged 30mins later and my skin was incredibly soft. I’m always curious to try new things and this was amazing. I walked away with a purchases such as the seaweed lip balm and body lotion. Just so I could savor the experience at home. Well that’s my excuse :)

Absolutely Brilliant! I feel like a new woman after my bathing ritual at the famous VOYA Seaweed baths. This is something you HAVE to add to your list — bathing in a bath of seaweed may initially make your toes curl but trust me 30 seconds submerged in the warm, detoxifying, antioxidant cocktail will have you entranced. The seaweed releases a rich gel which you are encouraged to massage into your skin — this glorious 100% organic experience will leave you feeling on top of the world. Staff are both knowledgeable and friendly as well as complete converts the seaweed skin care phenomenon. As am I. Already booked in for my first facial treatment with VOYA, Cant wait!

A unique and meditative experience on the Strandhill seafront. Ever taken a bath in a tub full of seaweed before? Yep, it’s weird. But I will say that I nearly drowned to death in the tub(Daily Mail headline: «American tourist tragic accident, falls asleep in seaweed bath») and my skin felt luxuriously smooth afterwards. The seaweed smells vaguely like chlorophyll… erm…fresh cut grass… and has a slimy texture that takes some getting used to, but the steam room and the sound of the ocean will easily lull you into a stoic trance. The spa offers a number of other treatments as well and we opted for an upper body massage. It was wonderful and the bath and massage for two people was 105 euros, a real steal in my opinion. Voya isn’t a luxury spa by any means, but it’s clean, relaxing and provides a natural way of rejuvenating yourself that is quite unique. It’s definitely worth at least the 50-minute soak. I wish I was back there right now.

If in Sligo its worth booking a 50minute session at Voya to rejuvinate the body and revive the spirit. This place offers a number of treatments including detox Seaweed Baths. Wraps, Facials and Massage as well as selling a number of organic bodycare products. And if you cant make it to the west of Ireland you can buy Voya online or at House of Fraser Uk and a number of outlets in Germany.
