Great rural country pub near Clonmacoise (on our way to Galway). The Guinness was awesome and the vegetable soup was outstanding. Pannini and sausage was good. Order at the bar.

Killeens is an authentic (non-​touristy) Irish pub 10 km off the main road between Dublin and Galway. Take a break here on your long journey to Galway, you’ll be glad you did.
The pub is small and full of lots of eclectic stuff posted on the walls, including a backwards-​running clock. The server was a very friendly student in Galway. The food was great and very filling; try the homemade lasagna.
Thanks to everyone there for being hospitable to us obvious-​tourists.

Ein absolut uriger und viel bereister Pub, der mit einer Grocery verbunden ist. Ist der Pub voll, sitzen (vor allem) die Einheimischen mit ihrem Pint sogar an der Ladentheke.
Es gibt jeden Abend Live-​Musik. Die Musik ist eher im Country und Western-​Stil, manchmal tanzen die Leute auf der doch kleinen Fläche des Pubs und die Musik macht Stimmung und gute Laune. Schon Harry Rohwolt hat sich hier wohlgefühlt und es hängen zahlreiche Post– und Visitenkarten aus aller Herren Länder an der Theke.
Der Wirt holt zu später Stunde schon auch mal sein Musikinstrument heraus (ich glaube, eine Trompete).
Der Pub macht jedenfalls Spaß und ist ein Muss auf der Reise von Ost nach West ;-)
