The Nutshell

Another small gem in New Ross! Great takeaway selection of smoothies (for that hot Sunny Southeast day!), coffees, cold salads, and warm platter options (lasagna with or without meat, quiches, pies). The coffee is dee-​licious, best you can get in town.
There’s no seating in the front for the deli or café customers so you’ll have to buy and go. There is a small space in the back for the restaurant. I ate there once or twice — the food was tasty but the prices were a bit much for me. My panini was more expensive than one I’d get in a fancy-​pants café in Dublin. The place is always packed though so there must be quite a lot of people who don’t mind paying through the nose!
Oh there’s also a lovely little selection of gourmet cheeses, wines, pastas, rices, you-​name-​it just between the deli and the restaurant. So if you’re struggling to find tofu in New Ross, come here — they’re sure to have it!
