To celebrate Ireland’s rugby win against Italy, my better half and I decided pints were in order! We came to Malahide for food and since our stand by greedy goose was booked until 9:30 we settled for cape Greko thanks to fellow Unilocalers. We went without any expectations as my partner isn’t a fan of Greek cuisine and I didn’t have a particular hankering for it either. He ordered a lamb dish(sorry forgot the name; #26 or 27?!) and I ordered the vegetarian meze for sharing. The lamb was DELISH. Tender, flavourful, just magic. The veg meze I ordered was average but what blew me away was that it was € 18.50!!! For a vegetarian starter?! In all honesty it’s my fault. The price is clearly stated on the menu. Yes you get a fair amount of food but REALLY? The meze included 2 slices of(salty) halloumi cheese, 2 slices of(greasy but good) eggplant, a small(minuscule) pot of tzatziki(yum) and hummus(bland), 2 veg meatballs(pretty tasteless), pita bread, 4 slices of roasted beets(tasted jarred to me), a few wedges of grilled bell pepper(hard to go wrong there) and a woohoo a few cherry tomatoes… REALLY? Is that good value? No is my answer, As my partner’s lamb cost only .25 more than mine… I ordered a carafe of the house Chardonnay which was pretty poor. Couldn’t finish the last glass as the after taste was too sweet. For dessert I got baklava which tasted great just wish the phyllo pastry was crispier. I know this review makes me sound like a whinge, but I spent € 77 for a mediocre dinner and that makes me mad. I worked Really hard for that and to spend it on mediocre food gets my goat… On the plus side(not that I was looking) plenty of good looking men there with really below average looking dates.(Hopefully I didn’t fall under that category) Girl’s put on your high heels and slap on your make up cuz this isn’t a bad place to go fishing!

After our first visit to this gorgeous restaurant, both my husband and i were sold! Once you arrive at the top of the staircase, you truly do arive at another ‘level’ of food, service and ambience! The only down side being that we had not discovered it earlier. With a large, diverse range of dishes and beverages, Cape Greko is home to the best meal in town! Whether it be for a special occasion, business function or just a quit family meal, this Restaurant ticks all the boxes. It would be hard to single out one meal as everything really is great, be it butter soft prawns, crispy calamari, beautifully tender fillet steak or grilled halloumi to name but a few! The mains all come with a wonderful selection of sides and portions are more than generous. After manydelicious meals, cocktails and bottles of wine, we will continue going here and can confidently recommend it.

I dropped in here on the Wednesday before Christmas for the early dinner. It was just after 6pm and the place was deserted but the welcome no less warmer, thanks to the young Latvian waitress. We ordered three course Early Birds; I had a wonderful, fresh Greek salad, my brother had three lamb kofta with a minty, dipping sauce. For mains, we both ordered chicken, mine with a creamy, mushroom sauce and his, with a spicy, tomato sauce. The portions were generous and nicely cooked. Both were served with side plates of sautéed potato. I ordered Greek yoghurt with a dusting of nuts but without the honey, in deference to my diabetes. We washed it all down with a Sicilian Nero D’Avola. The total came to around € 75 and it was good, if unremarkable. The service was efficient and cheery. The only bad note was the ludicrously complicated WiFi password, all capitals and figures. Why bother? I felt like I was picking their pockets

Yassas Unilocalers! A big fat hello to a lovely Greek-Cypriot oasis in Malahide. Once you ascend the stairs, you’ll find a quiet and romantic respite from the crowded street. You may even notice that the restaurant is beautifully-appointed(with a cool wine rack) — if you can bear to tear yourself from the beautiful seaside view. The food is fresh, tasty, plentiful, and priced to please. The chef hails from the island of Cyprus, so hummus and halloumi cheese feature alongside your favorite Greek dishes, as well as a generous selection of seafood, reflecting the proximity of the water. Since it may be hard to choose just one appetizer, you have your pick of platters offering a diverse sampling. You may also be tempted by one of the mouthwatering desserts(including baklava, naturally). In any event, after eating here, you may have to stroll to the castle to walk off the calories!

Cape Greko is located directly above Mario’s on New Street in Malahide. I absolutely love Greek food so I had to give it a go, and after hearing only wonderful things about this place from a friend, I was even more keen to visit. The décor inside wasn’t overly decorative or as Greek-looking as you would expect it to be, but the blue and white colours did sort of remind me of being aboard a Mediterranean-esque cruise ship(for some reason!). Sadly they don’t have gyros which is probably my favourite Greek specialty. That’s okay though; they made up for it with the pleasant workers and atmosphere, quick delivery, and excellent prices. I tried their chicken souvlaki and I thoroughly enjoyed it — everything was cooked to perfection and packed with flavour. Oh and how could I forget?.. Their tzatziki was beautiful, and to be honest I had high expectations for it, so that was a great surprise. Even if you’re not the biggest fan of Greek cuisine there are many other dishes that will satisfy.
