In the little town of Macroom, you have two options for Chinese food, both within about ½ a mile from each other(0.8km for the natives). Both offer similar items and both are priced roughly the same. The difference comes from the ambiance and aura, a critical choice one must make. Castle View offers a more intimate setting, perfect for a private date that will offer a quiet setting to really converse and connect over dumplings and spare ribs. You could even challenge them to a chopsticks dual if you feel so inclined… however you prefer to make your meal special. Personally I found Castle View to be the better of the opportunities, with daily special options at a good deal and speed with takeout options as well.

One of the best little Chinese restaurants we have ever been to around the world, there food was not what we were expecting, at best we expected average but we actually got tremendous. A simple neat looking restaurant, not lavish by any standard but clean and well looked after inside and out. There menu is far better than a lot I have seen and they were very willing to adapt meals for us, we couldn’t fault it if we tried. The staf are very nice and polite nothing was to much trouble for them, we even got those horrible fortune cookies before we left, most Chinese Restaurant stopped giving them free of charge years ago. If you are visiting this part of Ireland this restaurant comes highly recommended.
