I really wanted to give them a good review. More stars. The reason I cannot is the slow service. There seems to be enough lads there to serve efficiently, alas the long wait seems to be inevitable. My pet hate is when I am in a middle of being served and the person behind the counter is distracted by his/her colleague who has some urgent matter to discuss right there and then. More important than me. I wanted to tell the waiter that besides coffee he also needs to charge me for the sandwich & soup, but I was stopped in my tracks and needed to wait until the aforementioned, more important conversation was over. Another thing is, I love the tables up in the yard but no one seems to tend to them. I saw used bottles, coffee cups, trays, rubbish… And they were only open half and hour at that stage.

I’ve mixed feelings about this place. I had scones with raspberry jam and a cappuccino and it was all fantastic. The scones and jam were homemade I would say and were delicious. The coffee had a good kick to it which I like. The café itself is in the basement and lacks charm. It’s noisy and feels cold, lacking in atmosphere. The staff are friendly enough but not particularly welcoming. It’s near to me and before today, I would say I wasn’t pushed about whether I would come back or not. However the scones were delicious and only € 2 each. I will come back for them.

Never has a visit to the museum seemed so appealing… don’t get me wrong, I do love art in all its forms; it broadens the mind, it enlightens, it even on occasion offers insight and calms the spirit. However, if I see another square bit of canvas, painted entirely in orange with an insane price tag and a title like«Sunset over San Francisco» or some such rot, I will probably top myself. The only thing that keeps me sane is the thought of the Itsa Bagel Club, with a side of crisps and a large black coffee which is the justly earned reward and a huge improvement on the usual foods served up in such institutions.
