The Strand Bar Restaurant & Guest House

You can’t argue with the location of the Strand Restaurant and Guest House as it’s situated right on Moore Bay in Kilkee. The view from the restaurant and the rooms facing the front is amazing if the weather is good. Sunsets are particularly enjoyable.
The rooms are as good as you’d expect for a guest house and have benefited from the exposure that the Strand received as a participant in the RTE TV program «At Your Service» when the TV presenters worked with Johnny and Caroline Redmond (the owners) to upgrade and update the rooms. Don’t expect to be staying at a Westin or Sheraton or other bland corporate hotel chain — do expect to stay in a comfortable room that seems to be part of someone’s home rather than a commercial premises.
The food served in the restaurant is robust and good. Portions are large and won’t disappoint the hungry,
All in all, a great place to spend a weekend in Kilkee and use as a base to enjoy the incredible cliff scenery in the vicinity.
