Délicat d’avoir un avis définitif sur ce b&b, mais j’y suis allé, j’ai pu voir deux chambres kitchissimes, des lieux communs totalement désincarnés, avec du lino au sol, une salle à manger moche, vraiment, et dire que les critiques de trip advisor sont élogieuses… Je né comprends pas…

Excellent, simple as. We were in Keel for a 10k and weren’t expecting a whole lot from this place. We just needed somewhere that’d do a decent breakfast and somewhere to rest our tired bones. We got so much more.
First off, Achill Island: go there. It’s got scenery that’s a cross between Game of Thrones and Ryan’s Daughter. Beautiful beyond belief. Also, full of sheep. If the sheep eventually rise up against their human overlords, avoid Achill Island, it will be their capital. Until then, enjoy the solitude, the Atlantic coastline, the tiny villages and rolling hills.
The Ferndale Guesthouse has a handful of beautiful themed rooms. The dining room has an amazing view of Keel bay, and they served us a delicious breakfast. I was really surprised by the hospitality and comfort. Jon, the owner, was good enough to let us check out late so we could shower and recuperate after our run.
