Three stars for me, but maybe it was that fabulous Howth air making me euphoric? Nah, there’s more to it than that though. Someone inside that little, squashed chaotic, barista hatch knows how to make delicious baked goodies with the headiest of vegan ingredients that I totally destroy by washing down with a flat white. But I tell ya, if there’s anything that’ll get you around the Howth Head loop on a windy day it’s a coconut-agave ball and 2 shots of espresso. Hi-ho!

I have been there last 16 August with my husband. We decide to get a coffee there because from the outside looked cool and cosy with its own style. Big mistake as the organisation has a huge gap in managing orders and customers. We ordered at the till 2 Americano coffee to take away paying 4.80 Euro(price is by the way little bit expensive for the taste of coffee). We have been told to move beside to wait for the coffees. The longest waiting of my entire life, new people come in and were served… ops there was an issue with our order or a huge gap on serving people for sure. We waited for almost ten minutes, or even more, and as said more orders where coming. So the mystery was resolved, they realised that the girl at the till forget to place the order slip to the guy at the coffee machine. While we were confirming what we ordered, other people claimed for their coffees as well, like it was not a rare event. The café is cool from outside but from inside delivered a wrong customer experience, something to watch and resolve as soon as possible, The coffee, I don’t remember. This is the problem, after all, I only remember the unpleasant experience I had, which shouldn’t have happened. I won’t come back for a coffee there in the future.

This place has character and style, but unfortunately the organization has a huge gap in managing orders and customers. I ordered at the till 2 Americano coffee to take away paying 4.80 Euro(price is by the way little bit expensive for the taste of coffee). I have been told to move beside to wait for the coffees. We waited for almost ten minutes, and more orders where coming. New customers were coming, paying, ordering after us and getting their item. So they realized that the girl at the till forget to place the order slip to the guy at the coffee machine. While we were confirming what we ordered, other people claimed for their coffees as well, like it was not a rare event. My advice for the management is to put professionals behind the till, not teenagers at cheap wages to lost orders. Also, I am sorry to say but the coffee I got it was not good. The one star goes only to the interior design :-)

Chocolate doesn’t get much better than this! I actually don’t think I know enough adjectives to describe how phenomenal the chocolate waffles are in this place. The waffles themselves are made before your very eyes and then doused with a very generous helping of chocolate straight from their chocolate fountain. I’m telling you, these guys are the real deal. They do other chocolatey goods too and they cater for the more health conscious among us and those of us with dietary requirements(coeliac, vegan). I’m not a big coffee drinker but from what I have heard, the coffee is top notch too. The seating is quite limited so which makes it more of a ‘to-go’ place and it is a bit pricey, but I can guarantee that you’re getting the bang for your buck. Defo worth a visit if you find yourself with a bit of a sweet tooth in Howth.
