This was delicious and was happy they had gluten free options. Being from America, it was weird that they charge extra for additional ketchup.

Hier gibt’s eine Portion hervorragende Fish’n’Chips zum Mitnehmen (keine Sitzplätze). Die Pappschachtel wird hier sehr schnell über die Theke gereicht, meine Wartezeit war nicht der Rede wert. Nach einer Wanderung auf dem Howth Cliff Walk ist das eine ideale Möglichkeit für eine Mahlzeit.
Der Fisch schmeckt wirklich gut und ist sehr frisch. Es gibt verschiedene Saucen zur Auswahl, wobei Tartar eine leckere Remoulade ist. Die Pommes sind dick. Gegenüber von Beshoff Bros ist ein kleiner Park mit Blick auf den Hafen von Howth, wo bei trockenem Wetter Bänke mit schöner Aussicht bereitstehen.

Great for late night fish and chips! Closes at 11:00 pm on weekends. Fish was crispy and tasty and chips were hot! I’d ask for the tarter and aioli again!
Perfect for after bar night for quick hot food!

If you’re visiting Dublin as a tourist, grab the Dart out to Howth for € 6. If the weather happens to be kind that day, walk directly to Beshoff Bros, get yourself better fish & chips for € 10 than you can in the city, and then eat them on the wall overlooking the harbor, because eating fish & chips overlooking a harbor is a wonderful thing to do.
If you’re NOT visiting Dublin as a tourist, you probably have more nuanced opinions regarding fish and chips than I do, so what are you asking ME for.

The food was too oily and the breading on the fish was very thick with comparison to the fish. It’s not bad but could be much better for the price they charge. I recommend the breaded sausages though, they were excellent.

The service is quite fast: ordered-​get a check with a number– get called– get your good. The idea is fun two: after an exhausting but breathtaking walk around the cliffs have a fatty meal to indulge yourself a little bit. Shouldn’t be don’t often (not healthy, very very not healthy) — but once in a while it’s quite an experience.

This is a great place to start your day your day. We had the Irish man breakfast and coffee. One thing I can say about the Irish is they can make a beautiful and flavorful cup of coffee.

The Best! We were on a quest for the best fish and chips in the Dublin area and found it in Howth at Beshoff Brothers. Fresh is the word here; when you order, your fish is prepared fresh, order by order. You can even watch your order number as it is posted on the display. Beyond that, an most importantly, the food is excellent. We tried both haddock and cod. The cod was best to my palette. The chips were special too. Fresh, flavorful, and made from golden potatoes. Dee Lish!!!

One of the best fish-​and-​ships restaurant around Dublin ! Traditional, inexpensive and to keep away from the Seagulls. They will swoop down to get what they want… And you will probably get what they want, won’t you?

I don’t really understand the 4’s and 5’s this place is getting.
Very very touristy.
Over priced.
Dry average fish in probably too much batter.
Chips are grand but not the best I ever had.
What I do like is they have the calorie on the menu. Although how accurate is that when you are not selling something made in a factory?
I also really like the staff. Super friendly. Bit of banter.
Now whilst my fish was dried up and not great my cousin got the scampi and this was a huge improvement on the fish. But I am sorry if you cannot get a smoked haddock and chips correct when you are paying 10 euro to take it away then you’re not going to get me running back.

Simply incredible. Everything that a chip shop should be. Fresh, hot, tasty food at inexpensive prices. With helpful, friendly and courteous staff, too.
Beshoff Bros. is conveniently located, and they’re easily accessible by foot near the main rail station in Howth. Keep in mind that the establishment is set up for take away, so you’ll want to scope out the nearby area for someplace to sit and chow down. Just watch for seagulls and birds if you’re outside — they’re always hungry!

I did some reviews before going to Howth on a great place for fish and chips. Beshoff was the first choice, while a sit down restaurant was the second. It was sunny out, though chilly, but Beshoff was my winning choice — and thank goodness it was! The cod was delicious and huge, the chips were delicious and thick and the perfect amount of crispy (I couldn’t just had chips and been pleased honestly), you could choose from multiple sauces (ketchup, garlic tarter, tarter, etc.) and the option of vinegar salt sprinkled on-​top. If you love vinegar, I suggest the salt, it really added to the meal. It’s 8 to 11 euro for the cod meals — AND IT FILLS YOU UP. If there’s a line, it’s worth the wait. The «packaging» the meal comes in is nice, it gives a little bit of history on the place which adds to the charm. It really adds to my love for the place and makes it easy to eat while walking or sitting without a table.
Go. Here. For part of your Howth experience. I can’t speak for other items on the list, but go classic with the fish and chips and you won’t be disappointed.

Definitly one of the best chippers in Dublin! The «Oh My Cod» meal deal where you get chips and cod goujons is great value for only € 5. Anyone staying on Dublin should make an effort to visit Beshoffs, either in Howth or at one of the other franchises around Dublin! However this outlet loses a star for the lack of seating and tables…

Pretty fricken good chipper. Although, one time I ordered the calamari and it was flat. Chips are on fleek. Fast food, but good food. The area is awesome as well. Are some of the sauces homemade? They were kind of amazing.

Wow I wanna punch those who rated lowly because this spot is THE BOMB. As an American university student studying in Dublin for a summer, eating here is one of my fondest memories. I have been in search for an American replacement but NOTHINGGG D:. No one does smoked haddock fish&chips in America. NO ONEEE. Y’ALL IRISH PEOPLE ARE SO LUCKY. I know I must sound real aggressive right now but YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND the pain I feel and how much I miss this LOL.
Also no one in Europe Unilocal!There is a place in San Francisco with 4.5 stars over 1800+ reviews, so I thought it must be as good as Beshoff’s but nah… Just us Americans loving to put our opinions on everything…

The chips were nice and bright and crispy and the fish nice too… not too greasy.

En un mot, délice!!! N’hésitez pas a prendre un cabillaud pané avec des frites. Les poissons sont frais du jour!!!

My husband and I visited Howth for a sunny summer evening stroll and to try out the local fish.
It was pretty quiet when we got there so we received our order promptly and sat in the harbour to enjoy them. I got the fresh cod and chips and my husband got the smoked haddock and chips.
I found the cods batter was much too thick. There seemed to be more batter than cod. The chips were ok.
My husbands smoked haddock had a nice smoky smell and taste.
Overall, ok.

Sehr guter Imbissladen mit frischem Fisch. Wir haben allerdings den in Howth besucht. Es gab keinen Sitzbereich. Die Bestellung mit einpacken und mitnehmen hat ganze zwei Minuten gedauert. Da man draußen isst, sollte man nicht so doof sein, parallel die Möwen zu füttern. Das machen viele Touris, kann völlig schiefgehen. :)

RIGHT! It has to be RIGHT! How could it not be if it tastes so freaking GOOD!
I say there is nothing better than a nice stroll along the rocks on a sunny day and then a little stop off in Beshoffs for a cod&chips box. € 8.95 for the lot, and you are guaranteed to be stuffed to the gills. (see what I did there?!)
The fish on both days was fresh and fluffy and nicely battered. The chips are thick, well cooked and made outa good potatoes like your mam would make.
Although the queues can be mental at this time of year, they had eight staff (yes EIGHT) behind the counter, ensuring it all went really smoothly and we were skipping outa there, batter firmly in hand, within 10 minutes or so.
My star has also been docked for the same reason as Tim’s — I want MORE SAUCE! I like to mix my ketchup and tartare. So what! Less of the judging and the ‘either/​or’, more of the sauce me up Scotty!

Lovely flakey cod encrusted in golden batter goodness, and salty and vinegary chips that retain its crispiness… mmm! I think I have just undone all the calories I’ve burnt on the walk.
One star lost as I had to choose between tartar sauce and the other sauces on offer (sweet chili, garlic, ketchup)… but I want tartar sauce for my fish and sweet chili for my chips! Why can’t I have both?! *throw a strop*

Fish n chips fast casual, this location was to go only (in Ireland it’s referred to take-​away) …I took it to the pub next door and it was delish~ Very fresh, good quality and I am craving some of this as I write! Too bad I will not be back until June! you peeps are lucky to have this as an option fast food option. It was better then (the restaurant near by) and ½ the price Sorry Chef it’s true! at first I had my nose up in the air about it (I thought of Long John Silver) but I am glad my snobby side did not keep me from trying it!

Knapp 300 Meter vom Bahnhof entfernt in Richtung Meer befindet sich dieser sehr schöné Fish ‘n Chips Laden, der auch in Dublin zwei Filialen unterhält.

In dem kleinen Laden hat der Kunde im Grunde nur eine ernsthafte Wahl: Cod (Kabeljau) oder Haddock (Schellfisch) letzterer auch geräuchert. Gegessen wird übrigens nicht im Laden, sondern draußen auf einer Bank an der Promenade. Der frisch frittierte Haddock war ein Gedicht, auch die Remouladensoße so, wie sie sein soll, die dick geschnittenen Pommes gut.

Das sahen nicht nur wir so, auch die einheimischen Stammgäste wussten jeden Krümel zu schätzen.
