Good pub grub here at the Duiske Inn. I ordered the chicken goujons with chips and side salad. Fairly typical pub food, but very tasty and quality stuff. And their portion of goujons was massive. Eight in all I think. Everyone else enjoyed their food too. But the service let the Duiske Inn down a lot. They appeared to be understaffed and it was a very busy Sunday. There was initially two floor staff, a barman and a waitress. A second barman appeared later just as we finished eating. That said the first barman played a blinder and was really doing his best to serve drinks, take food orders and get new patrons seated. If it wasn’t for him I reckon we would have walked out without eating. The waitress came and went less frequently. She chatted to patrons she knew. A-ok, more so if you’ve more than one dedicated staff member on the floor.

We were the only dinner guests in a Wednesday night in late June. The barkeeper served us. He was charming. The meal was delicious. Lovely décor. The chef spoke with us and recommended we visit St Mullins. It was a great recommendation. Beautiful town.
