Pier Head Bar & Restaurant

This place was absolutely delicious! After a day of hard core touring, we arrived starving. We had the duck spring rolls (really large), a cod special, steak fillet, hazelnut chocolate torte and raspberry pavlova. All were wonderful. And the view of the water is beautiful. They lost a star for charging us a 5 euro «split charge». My husband and I each ordered our own entrees but shared them. Isn’t a split charge for sharing one entrée?

I went to review this restaurant a while back and never posted it, however I took a visit there recently and was slightly let down and have had to change my review. The food was not as good as I remembered and it was served way too quick. I tried the tempura calamari which had very little flavour. It was probably some of the blandest calamari ive ever had. My guests crab claws however were totally on point and tasted so fresh. Again the main was a let down, I had the chicken stuffed with parm and sundried tomatoes before and this time it was just not as tasty as I remembered. The meringue with berries for dessert was one of my highlights, but on the other hand the chocolate ”torte” was basically a brownie cut in the shape of a slice of cake.
