Four of us stopped off in Dungarvan on the way to Kilkenny from Cork and needed to get a bite to eat. We tried Merrys Bar & Restaurant first as I had been there before but they were full so we went to The Moorings which was only about 100 yards away. When we walked in we were a little slow getting a table as they seemed to be busy serving customers at the bar, but once we had our table the service was nice and quick. They were out of both crab cakes and ¼ pounders but they informed us of this as we sat down so we weren’t disappointed by the time it came to ordering. In the end we all went for the Chicken Goujons and every one of us though they were lovely! We all would be happy to eat here again. It looked like a nice bar to also have a few pints in and they have a wide variety of drinks available.

I quite liked this restaurant & the fact that it was extremely busy(it was a bank holiday Sunday) & yet they still managed to get a table for 11 of us(including 5 kids). The beer garden was very nice, lots of space, lots of tables, unfortunately we happened to be there as the tide was out & just making it’s way back in so the smell from the water beside us was disgusting & caught us every time the breeze blew. When they did find us a table the service was great, all very polite, very friendly & up for the craic, were great with kids & put our(trying to be playful but came across a little snotty) teenagers in their place without being rude. As far as the food went, I didn’t have a starter, but tried the seafood chowder & it was great. For mains I had a chicken burger on blaa & chips. It was all delicious. I followed it all up with no dessert, but with a baileys coffee which they made on decaf coffee to oblige me which also tasted great. Why am I only giving 3 stars so? To be honest I can’t really answer that. I thoroughly enjoyed it, as far as pub-grub goes it’s really great. Maybe it’s me that’s more the problem than them, not a big pub grub fan!

Doing a stop in Dunvegan and was told about this place by one of the locals. Great spot for a Guinness and fish & chips. Washrooms where clean and the place was bustling with locals. Fish and chips were fantastic. Would highly recommend!

Always stop here for lunch or dinner when in town. Love The Moorings. Their portion sizes are huge and tasty. The booths provide more than enough space for comfortable seating. I’ve never been to their outside area, but it looks lovely and friends of mine have had a blast there. It is family friendly and looking forward to going back this summer!

Sehr nette Bedienung und täglich wechselnde Lunch-Specials haben uns mehr als einmal hier einkehren lassen. Hinzu kommt die idyllische Lage im Hafen.
