I am giving Nando’s 4 stars mostly because I can get delicious perfectly spicy chicken here! I love hot, spicy flavors and the«hot» chicken here definitely packs some heat. I’ve had the no bones about it platter for 2 and also the chicken pitta. Both delicious. I especially enjoyed my pitta for lunch the other day. Spicy with a nice crunch from the lettuce. The grilled sweet potatoes are also delicious. The only bummer was that both other people in my party couldn’t get their first choice of side because they had ran out of those two dishes. Bonus– free refills on soft drinks! Great spot to grab a quick bite if you’re at the mall.

We started going to Nandos in Dundrum right from when it opened all those moons ago. We used to love the food and the atmosphere but honestly we very rarely come back now. You always have to guess if you’re going to get a table or have to wait 10(or more) minutes to be seated– which is only a good thing for them I guess as business is obviously booming. The one thing I guess I do love about Nandos is the fast food idea about it, you know what you’re getting(or supposed to be getting) and you can customise it to your liking. Bottomless drinks are always a win too. We’ll be back, but after checking the queue first.

Always love Nandos, but this one is a bit hard to find, we didn’t know it’s downstairs… The sign should be more clear about this!

In my world, there are 3 kinds of restaurant — when the Cousins call Fine Dining(3 hours, special occasion, €€€€); Casual(1.5 hours, because we want to, €€) and Fuel(45 mins tops, alone or with teenagers, €). Nandos definitely falls into the latter category. As such, it is ‘best of breed’ to use some management jargon. Their peri-peri chicken in all it’s combinations is excellent, pay before you eat is quirky but it works, bottomless soft drinks is great and haven’t seen it anywhere else in Ireland, portions are generous and delicious with brisk service to ensure you’re out the door happy and full in the minimum amount of time. Like McDonalds, the experience is pretty much identical in each branch. Unlike McDonalds, guilt is not the overriding emotion after you’ve stuffed your face. Always a safe bet and amazingly popular with teenagers.

While overall I am a fan of Nandos, there are a couple things that bring down their rating for me. I think the fact that you’ve to order your food at the counter is a bit daft as they have waiters walking around cleaning tables and actually giving you your order when it’s cooked, surely it wouldn’t be too much more of a push to take orders too! That and I always think it’s a bit overpriced! Food is tasty though, butterfly chicken breast with the two sides is my usual order. The piri piri sauces are good, and actually very spicy! So tread carefully if hot and spicy isn’t you’re thing! Staff are generally nice but I have had experiences where they act very uninterested towards customers, something that drives me mad as I work in customer service myself!

No, it’s not fine dining, you have to pay at the same time as ordering and you cant reserve a table… but that’s where the bitching stops. If you are a char-grilled chicken fan then this is the place for you — I am such a fan and I love the place. Service is great and the soft drinks are bottomless and it doesn’t cost a fortune. perfect for a hangover!

I seem to be a rare breed of Nando Nazi –sorry i just do not like it. I have been there a few times and found that the food is nothing special AND the chips are ruined with a horrendous amount of powdered spices. What is that about. Also i hate the nando’s process of having to get up to order and pay before you eat. If i want to do that i’ll hit mickey D’s. I’d be so much happier to continue the few steps to the counter or the mexican next door to Nandos… and sit on my ass with some powder free chips.

okay so its a chiken restaurant, they specialise in cooking chicken so maybe i shouldnt be giving them only two stars because i ordered veggie burger! but, still if they are offering a veggie burger i expect them to get it a bit right! so here is my gripe… when one orders a veggie burger you should presume it is because he person does not like meat, will not eat meat or just does not feel like meat that day. so why oh why does this restaurant make a veggie burger that has the taste and texture and look of meat, i mean that is just not right! i expect vegetables in my veggie burger not fake meat, i didnt want meat in the first place! so a big thumbs down to nandos attempt at vegetraian food! okay i wish that i had gotten their corn on the cob, itlooked really tasty but because you order and pay for your food before you get it you would have to make a whole new order to get something extra. i havent been back here since, iwasso upset with the veggie burger buti do like the way it works in terms of service and i do like the never ending stream of soft drinks.

OHMYGOD! This is the spiciest food I have had since I arrived in Dublin! Just thinking about this place makes my mouth water with excitement! For a whole chicken and two sides its about 27 euro. I split it with a friend and still took some chicken home and made the BEST quesadilla ever. Really. If you see a Nandos try it, savor it, love it. I’m hooked. Now they need to open another location in North Dublin, or at least the City Centre.

YESPLEASE!!! I had my first Nandos the other day and it was absolutely fantastic… i will be returning. Its a very social restaurant which works on the basis that you get a table and a menu… pick out the food you want, walk up to the counter and order and pay for it… they give you the food. you dig in… everyone is happy. When they say ½ chicken that is literally what you get. Its great for a couple of for groups because meals can be ordered as share platters with the option of ordering a full chicken and half of it in one Peri Peri sauce and the other in another… you can chose how hot you want the sauce if you the sauce at all. The drinks are bottomless so if you buy one you can refill all you want. The self catering aspect is great and it keeps you active. good for a first date where any awkward long silences can be escaped by going for a refill or grabbing a plate… and maybe make a b-line for the door if its really going badly(You’ve already paid so the only person you will be robbing is your dates confidence and self esteem!!)

Nandos only opened up their first Irish restaurant earlier this year. I had never tried it in England before, so was kind of looking forward to it when I went a couple of months ago. I didn’t realise it was just chicken, which is kind of like walking into KFC and ordering a beef burger. Pretty stupid on my part! It’s basically an up market fast food joint. So as I said it’s just chicken — you can get wings, chicken breast, ½ roast chicken etc, and it comes marinated in piri piri sauce. You can choose how hot you want it, from mild to really really hot! I had chicken in pitta bread with chips and it was good! They also have a range of sauces you can add to your already marinated chicken and as much fizzy drinks as you want — you just fill them up whenever you feel like it.
