I made an appointment here one time to have my hair coloured (I’d not been before). My hair was black at the time and I wanted to go a bit lighter. I discussed it with the hairdresser when I made the appointment and she even made sure to book me in for 5.30pm on the dot as it would take a while and they were only opened until 9pm (it was a Thursday night). When I arrived at the salon I was put sitting down and I could see two of the stylists talking about me in the corner like I had done something wrong. Turned out that my hairdresser was out sick and they then claimed that what I’d booked for could not be done — ie they couldn’t lighten my hair. Lord knows why — I had booked it and gone through the prospective process a few days previously. I wasn’t asking for a miracle. It was really embarrassing — I felt like a bold child or something and they were horribly condescending. From my point of view the girl that was to do my hair was not there and none of the rest of them wanted to have to do it instead of her. They were just too lazy so they were making up an excuse. I pretty much stormed out of there and never went back. I got another salon to do my colour — and surprise, surprise, it wasn’t a big deal.
