What you’d expect of a local family run pub where the waiter/waitress service lets you sit back and relax with friends, place your drinks order and before you know it you can enjoy the beverages of choice. Friendly service & great ambience give it a sense of homeliness where you can enjoy yourself & your friends in a relaxing atmosphere.

Food is only served till 3pm so get there and order the crab bake. Delicious. Everything we have tried so far was good. Ceasar, Hake, Cottage pie. Locally well known place to go for drinks. Its a local hang out so do not expect to find irish bands entertaining the tourits… but the people are friendly and welcoming.

Brilliant bar, a stones throw from the Dart station and serves a well deserved pint if you have just made the trek to and from Killiney Hill. Dalky is quiet enough to make sitting at the tables outside, beside the road, a viable and on a good day, thoroughly pleasant, option.

My husband and I went here on our last night in Ireland. What a beautiful place! Met a sweet man by the name of AJ who introduced me to Irish coffee(oh my goodness, I think I found heaven!). He was so nice and friendly we were disappointed it was our last night there. Anyway, the place is amazing and has wonderful service and Guinness, of course. I wish we had more time!

Great pub option in Dalkey and hey, if it’s good enough for Michelle and the Obama clan then it’s good enough for me ! Love 2 doors up from this pub so probably biased but is a great spot and so lively, usual Irosh pub offerings and with locals of Dalkey and Killiney all flooding here it can be a busy olé spot! Super after spot when summer comes, outdoor seating extends and hey, as long as ye standing the kerb your in!!! Lol…

this is a fine place to get a pint, with an established and refined crowd of folks.

Went again here after three years. Still a great upscale sort of pub. For sure an older crowd with no younger people which seems to be how they like it here. Great service and perfectly poured pints. Worth finding this pub if you are in the area.

We went here our first night in Ireland. We’d read good reviews on Unilocal so decided it was the perfect first stop for us. Imagine our surprise after seating ourselves in the back corner(bleary-eyed and travel-weary) when my husband’s guitar idol, The Edge,(Yes, MISTER The Edge) comes and sits just about 5 feet away from us. Had we not had all sorts of other plans for our time in Ireland we may have just wrapped it up and called it done after that. :) The atmosphere was fantastic with lots of craic. We were also really impressed at how everyone was so respectful of the personal space of the local celebrities(with the exception of one young excited fan who hugged him without permission and showed him her U2 purse with his face on it.) The service and the Guinness were great as well. ;)

This is by far the best pub in the area and is a great place to meet with friends. The pub is warm and friendly, the locals are too. The service is great. The food at lunch is always fresh and very tasty. The drinks are always perfect. Whenever we visit the area from the States we always go to Finnegan’s. I have recommended Finnegan’s to many American friends when they visit Dublin and they always say that it was their favorite pub. Of course running into Bono and other celebrities every now and then is cool too.

This is the perfect traditional Irish pub. Whenever I have foreign friends visit, I bring them here after walking them over Killiney Hill to show them a bit of Irish culture. It’s deceptively large, with the traditional Irish dark wood partitions and lots of private corners. On sunny days, you can sit outside and watch the world go by. On rugby day(be they local or international) all the screens will be on and the place will be packed to the gills. This is very much a locals pub, on weekend afternoons you will see neighbours meeting for drinks, and several generations of families popping in for a chat. Maeve Binchy used to come here regularly for lunch as she lived next door, and there is still a table the locals know is hers. Bono also comes here, but don’t hold that against them. The selection of drinks is pretty much what you’d expect from a traditional pub, maybe not that exotic. They have bumped up their wine selection in recent years. The prices are on the slightly more expensive side of normal(about the same as Dublin city centre), but it is Dalkey after all. I haven’t eaten here, but I’ve heard good things(and if it is good enough for Michelle Obama…). On Christmas eve the place is heaving with everyone who has ever lived within a ten mile radius of Dalkey coming in for a chat and a catch-up after mass.

I would move in here if I could! The fresh fish of the day, haddock, was so light and delicious! Cooked to perfection! The chips were fab as well. The place is full of friendly locals and they made this American feel very welcome. They get quite full so get there early for lunch. The Guinness pours are great! If you want a warm and cozy place to relax, this is the place. Later at night, the sports come on and the place is packed. Everyone was delight. Can’t wait to return!

Nice pub, been here two or three times — close to Dart station which is handy. Lots of little nooks and corners and such, and is a good place to go and watch a game as good few TVs etc. Pricing is average, and dont know whether they do food or not(other than your peanuts and Taytos) Also quite nice outside on a sunny day with small few tables to sit and chat at. Its the kind of place I might go on Paddys Day if Im not able to go back to Cork, its got that country pub feel about it.

This is my favorite Pub. The lunchtime food is very good although perhaps a little expensive, although the portions are generous, given the current climate. Try their cottage pie great if you have a big appetite or good to share. Fast service and the staff are always friendly and helpful. When it is sunny you can sit outside and watch the Dalkey residents go by. Watch the parking as the traffic wardens always seem to be around but there is parking available by the Dart which is only a couple of minutes walk away. Plenty of restaurants in the area if you want to enjoy a drink there and then head off.
