Bloomfields shopping centre is basically just a big massive Tesco at the northern end of Dun Laoghaire, with a Boots store and a handful of ladies fashion shops like Vera Moda and Bennetton. The Tesco is well stocked with a great homewares section, selling everything from hoovers to wine glasses. They have loads of nibbley bits, sweets, chocolate and crisps to stock up on before heading in to the cinema next door.

Not really much to this place… to me it is a Tesco and a car park. It has a few other stores… but for the thousand times i have stepped in the doors of this shopping centre i have probably only once or twice gone anywhere other than Tescos and that was probably by mistake. Not much here for lads. Boots is alright, though my best tip is to head in here for some treats for the cinema. its far cheaper and IMC never stop you!

In purely aesthetic terms Bloomfields is probably the nicest interior of all Dun Laoghaire, but that’s about all they’ve got. The food hall is pretty good, I suppose, but other than getting passport photos by the car park I never seem to have a reason to go in there. It’s all just a bit middle of the road. Not bad, but not memorable.
