This café is in the shopping centre, and it is open front so it can get pretty noisy with all the footfall however they do amazing muffins with such creative flavours and seasonal flavours too. The muffins are big and good value and always fresh. They do hot and cold sandwiches too and the coffee isn’t half bad. They do a good loyalty card too of buy 6 get one free. The staff here are very friendly and it is very clean but seemingly always busy whenever I go in. It is great if you have a sweet tooth and just want something quick but I wouldn’t say it is a calm relaxing place that you could chill out in for a few hours.

I have in my time pondered over the time I have wasted brunching/lunching in BB’s with family or friends, never out of my own choice of course. The food is so packaged and un-fresh(unfresh?) that I have tasted the plastic of many occasions. The factor of dining @BB’s that sent me over the edge was the tray on food service. Staff were unwilling to help and very dismissive. I’ll give them one thing, it is usually clean and they do sell a mean chocolate muffin. But come on! how hard is it to sell a pre-made pastry. Please spend your $$$ elsewhere, or don’t. It’s up to you…

This used to be a great place to go for a coffee and muffin and I still remember a time when you could get that combo for less than 3 quid. It might have gotten a bit more expensive now, but the muffins are still great– the double chocolate one is my personal favourite– and their coffee is decent enough as well. I do have to agree with Laura though on the view, which is probably the only downside. BB’s also do lovely sandwiches, but if you have one later in the day the bread might be a bit stale because they make them in batches. You can also get a coffee and muffin to go and enjoy it down at Dun Laoghaire Pier, which is what I would do.

Some of the best muffins you’ll ever have, in some of the worst surroundings. Who ever decided that we wanted to eat our coffee and muffins while gazing on the vista that is Tesco Dún Laoghaire? Madness. But don’t take away from the muffins. yum.
