Big fan. I love the combination of old and new, neon and Victorianesque dark, aged wood. It’s gorgeous. Like really cosy and oldy-worldly but also funky. The perfect combo one might say. They have a 14yr old single malt whiskey which is unreal, I wish I could remember the name! Bar staff are friendly and easy going and above all, informative, which is key. Definitely recommended. Top tip: they also have their own brand of whiskey which you need to try!

If you want an old school looking pub, this is definitely the place to go. Each time I’ve been here, it’s been for whiskey tastings associated with the Celtic Whiskey Shop. It’s a neat atmosphere, and great city-centre location. The only downside is that the space is definitely a bit smaller, so if it’s a full evening, it can get a bit cozy. If you’re going for the whiskey tastings, I recommend making sure you get there on time if not early to get descent seating. Often people show up about 15 minutes, and as a result, the tastings start about 30 minutes after their scheduled time. But they people who arrive later are left sitting on stools with no backs. And that gets old REALLY fast.

The«secret» bar won’t be a secret for long. Vinyl playing classic blues? Check. Cosy, intimate bar with bags of character? Check. Craft beers? Check. Oh, and a cracking selection of whiskeys with an on-the-ball barman running the show, plus a cool neon sign? Check, check, and check again!
