Best place in Rathmines! I went twice to this nice place, and the twice was excellent! The first time it was for a brunch, I took the ham and cheese croissant, hot chocolate and the avocado + feta sandwich, it was all so tasty! And the second time it was for lunch and I took they 250 salad, so fresh and tasty!

Have been twice now and can’t rate it highly. Food is tasty and room is lovely but prices are far too high for what you get and the staff are grumpy and disorganised. I waited over half an hour from ordering to get my food, an egg dish, and it was before the lunchtime rush. Found their coffee a little on the bitter side unfortunately too. I won’t be back.

I have been here three times since it opened and I have to say each time becomes more and more disappointing. The latest visit was for their Supper Club which takes place on a Thursday and Friday night. I had heard great things about this after reading some reviews so said I would give it a try with my friend for a nice casual Friday night. Before getting there I had actually read a fairly scathing review on FB about the staff being rude which the staff had actually replied to in a pretty condescending way, saying that they were very busy and sometimes they can’t give all their patrons the same level of attention. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt as that was only one bad review among many good ones. I wish I had paid more attention. That review was actually being kind. I found the staff(including the manager/owner — not sure which he was) to be atrociously rude and obnoxious. The place was dead for a Friday night, probably only 3 or 4 tables were in use, so they definitely cannot use the«we were busy» excuse as they did with that customer. We were there for 2.5 hours and were treated like lepers. We were given one menu, were never asked if we wanted any more drinks, how was everything, and we barely got to order our dessert. Anytime we asked a question about cocktails or coffees, the staff didn’t know what was available or whether there was even a menu. It was like the place had only opened a couple of weeks beforehand. Now onto the food. I understand the point of the supper club is providing a limited menu to choose from, and that’s fine. I had seen a picture on FB earlier of the main Chicken dish which looked great, so I ordered that. They obviously used the best picture for FB because what we got looked nothing like it. It was fairly bland and was pretty small versus what was shown earlier that day. However the Bruschetta starter was delicious, with fresh tomatoes and loads of garlic, as was the brownie dessert. We(eventually) ordered two cocktails. An espresso martini and another prosecco based cocktail. When I saw the espresso martini arrive I nearly laughed. It was in a glass slightly bigger than a shot glass, not a martini glass, and was absolutely disgusting. For a place that markets themselves as coffee experts, I have never had decent coffee there, and this cocktail was no exception. It tasted like horrible coffee mixed with vodka and ice, nothing else. At this stage we were so afraid to say anything to the staff we just drank our drinks and asked for the bill. We really just wanted to get out of there. Then we saw the price of our cocktail. € 12 each. Absolutely ridiculous. I wouldn’t even pay that in an actual cocktail bar!!! Overall this was a terrible experience. This was my third, and last time, going to this café and I would never, ever recommend it to friends.

the coffee is good, food is good, especially brunch. but the problem is that this place is often so disorganised and the drinks + food doesn’t make it out to table without a reminder to staff. what’s worse is that — on more than one occasion — the staff in here have been rude to us. in particular the counter staff are lacking professionalism and warmth, and often treat us like we’re an inconvenience for ordering more coffee or trying to pay our bill. even worse, on more than one occasion the coffee baristas have given out — directly in front of the customers — about how it’s not their own fault that customers aren’t getting their drinks. it just feels like the staff in this place don’t actually want to be here. it might be time for some turnover — kudos to the chefs for making great brunch, but for all other positions it be time to find harder working, smarter service people who actually value their customers.

Good, really good. Coffee is delicious, they roast their own and pastries are great. Décor is cool(Melbourne much?) and staff are really friendly. Will definitely go back to sample the brunch/lunch menu.

Great chilled place to go, there’s always a great atmosphere. I love that there’s numerous avocado options on the menu– avocado is my favourite food at the moment. I’ve been here a few times with friends for both lunch and just a coffee and a healthy dessert. I won’t be a stranger to this place.

Pleasant enough place for a cup of coffee, however it doesn’t stand out particularly. The décor and staff are nice. I’m yet to try the food, but it always looks lovely however judging by the menu it seems slightly overpriced.

Nice, really nice. I had really nice breakfast with a very professional staff. I am a bit fussy if it comes to ordering food, I like my coffee in a certain way, that applying to the food as well. I was very pleased with what I’ve got. I had scrambled eggs which were fluffy and tasty, spicy tomato sauce and some Mayo. The only disappointment came of the avocado(really tiny slice, barely ¼of it). My boyfriend take the Moroccan eggs which were completely raw but served in a dish that cook them gradually in front of him, amazing. I will definitely come back for more.

Guess who has just hired some very attentive staff to improve customer service? Delighted to see these guys are being proactive about the criticism they have received. What I said previously still applies: their coffee is still devine. One of my pêchés mignons!

Since I was around Ranelagh area I had to try this place. It wasn’t a surprise it was packed and I almost left. However, that super nice waitress told me she would find a way to able for us — and she actually did! I had to share a table w/a couple but they were not annoying at all so it was OK. The place is lovely with a very simple decoration — warehouse style. It is a kinda of a hipster place, so beware! Haha the place smells like coffee(and cheese?!) but no issues with that. I saw cakes from distance so I had to get up and check it myself– it wasn’t in the menu. I chose and almond & raspberry cake. Delicious! Drooling here… Anyway, I had a long black coffee(very good) and a croissant — full of ham and grated cheese. It was super big. My friend had that Spanish dish and it was beautiful! I had a good experience, would def come back =)

Amazing food, really chilled atmosphere and the coffee is out of this world! We visited part way through Ireland’s last game as part of the rugby World Cup(they got put out whilst we were scarfing delicious food) and the place was deserted but we still got amazing service and were made to feel totally welcome. Sunday feels in the best possible way, juice in jam jars, exposed brick and all the newspapers a brunch could need. We’ll be back!

Favorite brunch spot in all Dublin. This is a tucked away coffee shop, a little off the main road. It’s always buzzing with families and kids though, because they’ve made a name for themselves in Rathmines! The avocado kale sandwich is THEBEST. It’s flavourful and delicious and everything is made by hand in a tiny kitchen! There is space to eat on their patio or inside. To be fair, inside is VERY cramped with tables pushed really close together. But the food and service is so good, you can deal with hearing your neighbor’s kid order their ham and cheese sambo. They also have daily specials, at least 4, that always sound so tempting! Today, they had breakfast tortilla, which was just about as close to a breakfast taco as you can get! Chorizo, fried eggs, fried potatoes, avocado spread, aioli all on corn tortillas! It was delicious and I ate every single bite. Pro tip: the Vietnamese iced coffee contains condensed milk and was so good, I ordered one at lunch and another for takeaway. Get you some!

This place has my favourite sandwich in Dublin, the smoked salmon. It’s unreal. It’s an open sandwich so not too much bread which I like but might not suit those with bigger appetites. If there is a heaven they eat this sandwich there every day. I can’t comment on any of the other food as I can never resist going for my favourite but it all looks delicious coming out of the kitchen and I’ve been told is great by people I’ve been there with. Coffee is fab too and they roast their own inhouse. My only gripe is their cups(pictured), these are my pet hate with such a tiny handle that it’s almost impossible to pick them up. I like my coffee hot so it’s a bit of a conundrum, have to wait for it to cool down before I can hold the blooming thing. I’ve no idea why decent coffee places use these cups! That said I still love the place and you should definitely go there.

Until yesterday I was a fan. Ill explain why in a minute. Firstly I am a coffee addict and if there were a 12 step programe for coffee I would attend or be sentenced, not sure which. Two Fifty Squared roast their own and their equipment is amazing as you can see from the counter or directly in front of you when you walk in. I was here on the opening day by accident I might add, I was waiting for someone and walked past it. People love the coffee, me not so much. I find it bitter. I have had it many times, 3 times in the last 4 days and all bitter. The food on the other hand is outstanding. The chef and I call him that as even though the food is basic, what comes out of that tiny open kitchen is nothing if not fabulous. The sandwiches are great, the chipolte fab however my favourite is the avocado, garlic, basil and ??? It was unbelievable. The flavours were fantastic. The soup is excellent and full of flavour also and yesterday I had the baked potato with chili as I was trying to be good. Excellent and filling also. Yesterday when I arrived I was met by about 15 buggies the size of mini coopers and mothers babies, young babies everywhere. you couldn’t move, they were all parked inside the door and anywhere they could cutting off customers and fencing them into their tables if they were sitting or blocking the table if not. If that wasn’t bad enough they kept coming, and they weren’t all meeting each other. So the pile of buggies kept growing, blocking the exit completely at one point. The noise was excruciating. So here’s the deal, I am in fact a proud mom, I also have 3 nephews approaching 3 years of age. I dont hate kids. I do however have an aversion to rude parents. In what universe is it ok to block people in, take up enough room for 8 people by the sheer amount of stuff you carry and bloody hell, when in a place of business fold up your buggy and think about others. Then in a restaurant, do not bring your own food and if this is impossible, do not come. Its the height of rudeness and bad manners to think you are more important than others. On the other hand I feel it go so bad it was a fire hazard as the entrance and exit were blocked and management should have said something. I normally spend about 80 a week here and its over now. We are officially breaking up. I will miss the great food but Dublin is filled with great restaurants and cafes offering great service so why go somewhere the management wont speak up because at the end of the day it isn’t cheap. Almost 10 euro for one small potato. Over 10 for an sandwich gets expensive for lunch daily.

First visit I tried an americano but second visit I got aeropress. On both visits I chose a giant cookie and the quality was the same on both visits. This is a place for hipsters to chill out but hey where isn’t these days? There was a mix of families and hipsters here too. The funniest sight I observed was one couple having coffee together. He was reading a newspaper and she was on her iPad — was like they brought their Sunday morning out(which is awesome as this is a v nice setting for it!) I do like the coffee here but unfortunately it’s a bit of a trek from D15 to visit too often

I guess the price of popularity has kicked in. When we were last here it is relatively unknown which meant friendly service with room to move but alas things have changed. The coffee was again excellent and yes the cookies are the size of a small spare wheel but the tables are packed in tight when communal bench and stools that are simply not conducive to sitting back to relax. You feel ontop of the person next to you and you speak in hushed tones like a library. I am delighted the business is doing so well with the Sunday Brunch but I just don’t like being squished. I like they offer aeropress coffee, not everyones cup of tea so to speak but I am glad I tried it as I was going to invest in one.

This place is very cool, very funky, very hip and a bit groovy(and I’m a 40 year old balding man with socks and sandals and of the opinion that Bön Jovi had moments of brilliance, so I should know) We stopped in for an early lunch and were treated to some spectacular sandwiches and superb coffee and staff that were just brilliant — one of the girls grabbed junior and guided him to the fridges to chose his drink — it was all very relaxed and natural and un-pressured, little bits of interaction like that make all the difference. yeah, like it a lot, we’ll be back.
