I came here for the first time yesterday with a new band I’ve been playing with. Luckily my bandmate knew exactly where it was because if you don’t know you might have some trouble. It’s hidden inside a business park type place so you have to follow the road around until you see the sign. I’ve used a lot of different practice and rehearsal spaces over the years and I’ve gotta say that this was probably one of the cleanest I’ve ever seen. They’ve got somebody in the front that was willing to loan our guitarist a guitar when his was acting up, and tea and coffee available on the house. It’s a far cry from opening the door to my old space and seeing a stinky gangsta-looking guy laying on the multi-color stained floor foaming at the mouth as I lock up and leave and hope to God he doesn’t wake up and try to rob me. If you need gear they are pretty well set up. You pay an extra 5 – 10 Euro depending on what it is, drums and higher end amps are obviously more expensive. You book the room, the time, and the gear you want and they set it up and have it ready for you when you get there. Compared to the hole in the wall places in the states that I’m used to, Troubadour is pretty nice and reasonably priced.
