After a long night of drinking in Temple Bar, the cure was cheesy garlic fries. The melted cheese over the fries with a generous drenching of creamy garlic sauce really hit the spot. I guess fries/chips crosses cultural boundaries as the universal late night snack to eat. The menu also boosts other fast foods including onion rings, chicken, and even curry, but the dried, old pizza in the display case looked very suspect.

«Take me home, Emmet Road…» One of the best in Dublin without a doubt, not least on a Friday night after witnessing a Saint Patrick’s Athletic miracle up the road. The onion rings are the best in the city(FACT) and the servings of Chips very generous. The local dogs do well here, as some nights it’s impossible to finish. The milkshakes are great, but you need balls of steel to be seen ordering one in a post-football line, now don’t you? Get down here, chipper lovers will agree it deserves all the praise it gets, and in a corner of the city with more than enough fastfood joints Toni’s stands out.

A much treasured takeaway in the centre of Inchicore village, Toni’s offers supreme chips, burgers, unsurpassed kebabs, chicken curry and rice as well as syrupy sweet milkshakes to enjoy after a big night out or to take the edge off a frosty Dublin night. The smell that arises from your bag of chips(€ 2.40) when you initially open them is an aromatic dreamland of searing vinegar mixed in with brackish salt to create a delectable takeaway treat. The best thing about this takeaway however is the really chivalrous service. I don’t know if the staff are actually family members but the shared vibe of congeniality, cohesion as well as camaraderie is so tremendous and perceptible from the customer’s perspective that I wouldn’t be surprised if this was indeed the case. For € 6.70 I enjoyed a generous portion of chicken curry and rice, with succulent turmeric, cumin, coriander, fenugreek, and appetizing red pepper used to create the scrumptious curry sauce. Maria, who holds the custodian role of mother-hen it would seem ensures all customers are greeted and served with the utmost concentration.
