Was staying nearby and had a great Christmas Eve dinner here. Their décor and service were great and even though it is a little pricier, remember it is in a hotel after all, it is a nice treat.

Service was great but food was so-so. We ordered room service one night from here and also ate here another night. We tried their fish and chips, cottage pie, risotto and burger. The fish and chips were by far the best. The cottage pie was not very tasty and the risotto was SO heavy. For the risotto all I could taste was cream and butter and while that’s not bad tasting, it was not very flavorful. The burger was very good but hard to do a burger wrong. This is the only restaurant in the area that we could find that would serve food after 9:30pm.

Toddy’s Bar is part of the Gresham Hotel in Dublin. The food is traditional Irish fare with a few specials offered each night. There is a full bar. It caters mostly to tourists and that could explain the less than enthusiastic reception we got when all 7 of us showed up for dinner. Even though there were plenty of open tables, they made us wait as they put together enough tables to sit us all together. It wasn’t a big production but it kind of felt that way. Food was good and our server from Portugal was very nice and accommodating.

Somehow I’ve found myself at Toddy’s three times since I moved into the area a few months ago. It’s a decent place, but a pretty typical hotel restaurant. I had a burger twice, which was pretty tasty(€ 13.50). You can choose between a burger with pastrami and cheese or one with a portobello mushroom, sautéed onions, tomato, mozzarella, guacamole, spinach and garlic herb sauce. I tried to customise a burger once, but the waiter wasn’t very accommodating. Although pretty good, the second burger option just has too much on it to be truly enjoyable. Also, the waitstaff always seem to be confused and running around even though the place has been fairly quiet when I’ve been there, so the atmosphere doesn’t feel very relaxed. Overall, I wouldn’t take visiting friends or family here, but if you’re staying in the Gresham and looking for decent food nearby, Toddy’s is a safe bet.

Popped in for a Sunday lunch. My fillet steak was an excellent cut and cooked to perfection. Her club sandwich was well received too. Fries weren’t anything to gush about(I’ve become too used to pails of homecut fries). For dessert we shared a chocolate brownie with a generous serving of ice-cream. One of the better desserts I’ve had in Dublin. Staff were excellent and service was fast. All in all a good experience.

Toddy’s is eh. It started to downpour and we popped in here at lunchtime to duck out of the rain. Food was bland. The waiter didn’t know what came in the sandwiches. Bottom line, it’s a hotel restaurant. Nothing fabulous, but you will fill your tummy, you might have a confused waiter, and you unfortunately will not get free wifi. I can speak from experience here though, and say it does not rain inside this restaurant — so if you are avoiding rain — you can do that here.

Toddy’s Bar is located in the historic Gresham Hotel of Dublin, where the main character in James Joyce’s «The Dead» stays for a night with his wife. We shared a Caesar salad and tagliatelli with mushrooms and spinach – both were delicious. Our table looked out over O’Connell St., and the people-watching added to our pleasure. Good service in a lovely environment. One nit to pick: No brewed decaf(but then that’s true all over Ireland). Hotel food is usually expensive and mediocre, so what a surprise to dine on food that was reasonably priced and prepared with thoughtful care! Maggie STL

Toddy’s bar is part of the Gresham Hotel. So most of its patrons are people staying at the hotel and not locals from the surrounding streets. The staff do a very nice pint of the black stuff but they seem to be more inclined to want to mix cocktails and show off their skills. All in all, Toddy’s is a nice bar, with your comfy chairs and slightly hushed posh atmosphere. It’s not a place where you’d go on a mad night out or if you wanted to watch sports. It’s more of a place to go for a really quiet one.
