Located on Thomas street, just 10 minute walk from grafton street, it’s a cool punk rock bar to go to for a few drinks! They also have game nights where you can socialise with anyone in here! Lovely place to go to and away from the typical Irish tourist pubs!

An awesome little bar with brilliant music, cold drinks, sound patrons and a buzzy atmosphere. I love popping in here for a few after a gig in Vicar St and there is always a brilliant vibe. Reasonably priced and hosting regular events, I would put this in my top 10 Dublin boozers for sure.

Ever went into a bar and felt it was so pretentious and you’re really out of your element whatever that was? Well Thomas house is the exact opposite of that!
The atmosphere is extremely cosy, the staff are extremely nice.
The décor is really funky there are so many cool things in the place it can get pretty distracting (in a good way, of course).
The music is always nice too, and one of the best things about the place is that they will not overcharge you. All the pints (great selection) are at a really good price!
I was in earlier today and had a perfectly made hot port at the impressive price of 5e. Cold cured.

The only bar in Dublin ran by people who have a passion for the music they love. You won’t be filling some greedy fat cats pockets by having a drink in here. Big selection of booze, DJs spinning vinyl and live bands in the basement.

I love this place! Great music and amazing craft beers. I was only in town for a few days and didn’t get to see any of the shows downstairs but the line up looks like fun. If you are one that’s ready to try some smaller breweries this place is for you!

This is a great little spot for good music and craic. They have a good punk/​ska/​alternative scene here. The beer prices are also very good in comparison to most places in the city centre. The only two complaints I have with the place is it is quite small and when it fills up navigating through the place and to the bar is almost impossible, so I avoid big shows here. And they only have one bathroom with a single toilet, which again on nights when there is something on means you will be queuing men and women together all for one single solitary toilet. But its no bother most nights as long as its not overly busy. The staff are friendly and music is good so worth the visit.

The best bar in Dublin. I’m biased only because I believe it to be the best bar in Dublin.
Great music is a constant whether it’s (vinyl) DJs, live acts in the main bar or in Bruisers (the venue downstairs) or even from the in-​house sound system.
Local, domestic and international live acts which range from free entry to inexpensive tickets.
Events, quizzes, an in-​house barber every week…
Great selection of craft and independent beers + spirits, all of which are more than fairly priced.
Staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the owners are diamonds. On your own or with friends, you’ll have a great time and what’s more, your custom is always appreciated which means a lot to everyone. Thomas House is Independently owned, kicking against the pricks’ and doing a mighty fine job of it too.
All of the above seems like an understatement now that I’ve written it. The only thing to do is to go yourself and then go again and keep going back.

This pub is really f*****g cool. They played a lot of 50s garage girl bands so I was in heaven, sitting at the bar by myself, enjoying every minute there. The staff is super friendly and prices very very fair. It’s cosy and looks really nice. Highly recommended.

I went here for the first time last weekend. My friends and I wanted to meet up somewhere smart on pints– because lets face it, Dublin isn’t always the cheapest place to go out and drink for the night– and somewhere with good atmosphere to hang out at for awhile. Thomas House was the right call.
They served up terrific pints of Guiness for a fair 4.30. There were other drink specials for spirits (around 5 euro for something festive) and some deals on bottles (i.e. 3 for 10 euro). The selection for drinks was so good we stayed all night. Why trek all over town when the better deals are where you are and the booze will be the same?
Thomas House has its own vibe, similar to dive bars in NYC and The States I’ve been to, but more unique to Dublin. From 9−10pm, we were a few of the only ones there. We had spots by the bar and moved down to a table and chairs later. You could easily sit and talk with friends all night and be only an arms reach from either of the two bars inside. The bar is located in the middle of both rooms and seats surround the room. If you don’t want to sit though, that’s okay because there is room to float around the two rooms and meet people.
At 10pm the music got louder, the DJ went from classic rock to more current hits, and there was an obvious increase in crowd size.
I liked the classic rock at the beginning of the night, but thought the music choices all night were good choices. There were even a few lads that tried to start a mosh pit, but no dice
There’s a mix of of folks here: punk, rockers, average joes, and people just walking in to see what the buzz is about. .
The men at the bar did well all night– attentive, friendly, and generous on the pours.
When it’s closing time you’re in a tight spot on Thomas Street for takeaway and taxis, so there you go.
I’d go back!

I really like this place. its got a nice ambiance. They have good music in there regularly, and there is a venue downstairs although i haven’t been in there. Good spot, good range of beers too.

First time in here the other day and I must say I enjoyed it rather a lot.
Now it was mid-​afternoon when I frequented, so I can’t say much about the late evenings’ entertainment. But, what I can say is this:
— It reminded me very much of a New York dive bar inside and I felt very much at home!
— They allowed me to bring in my burrito and mill it with my pint as I was starving and they don’t seem to serve food
— The music was a bit of an eclectic rock mix which I enjoyed
— The bar tenders in general were sound
— There are lots of drinks specials on

If you’re into divey, punky, rocker, distressed leather and denim with studs (and not in the ironic hipster way) situations, Thomas House will be the place for you.
It’s a concert venue and bar all in one, so I guess I should say I’m reviewing the bar area.
Here’s what I can say about Thomas House:
An eclectic, cool, rocker crowd. Everyone seemed pretty mellow and nice, most likely because they had been tired out by all of the moshing they did on the concert venue level below.
Drinks are standard prices for Dublin (so, extortionate), though there was a deal for 3 bottles of Erdinger for € 10. Quite a steal, I’d say, although I didn’t partake.
A really funky, independent place, though not necessarily my cup of tea. Thomas House gets packed to the brim on weekends, so good luck finding a seat unless you awkwardly hover over people who look like they’re leaving soon… or awkwardly hover over them so they do leave…
When the ‘last call’ lights starting flickering at 12:30, startlingly early for a Saturday night, we asked the owner (who was seated at the bar) what time it closed. He said, ‘whenever I feel like it.’ Fair enough, I guess… he seems to get more than enough enough business from what felt like every punk rock fan of Dublin (which numbers to a lot).
Quick note: the front area gets really cold and drafty if the door’s open. Apparently, it’s not horribly rude if you go and close it. I ended up leaving because I was so cold, but my friends told me they went to shut it right after I bounced…

Dingy funky rock bar opposite a great gig location. Perfect.
I love this place, its always busy as well which is a good sign.
Its also pretty retro, with old computer games in the corner and a fish tank.
Love it.

5 stars for beer selection and music. One of the few bars in this area of Dublin that had any craft beers. If you are doing the Guinness Brewery tour this place is only a few blocks away.

We were very surprised by this little find. We were meeting people before a gig at Vicar street and we liked it so much we came right back here after the gig.
There is a good selection of beer behind the bar, which kept our thirst sated. But it was the music that kept us entertained first and the décor second. It’s a dive bar you see, not that I’d know it. I hear the word dive bandied about on Unilocal about bars, but a lot of it appears to be debate… from what I read.
I like the place, dive bar or not. The staff are nice, the music is good, the décor entertainingly dark and the clientele funky.
I’ll be back sometime, definitely.

The inimitable Thomas and his dearest public house. So critically important to the development of Man that «THEY» named the whole street after the pub. Thomas has existed longer than time itself and his pub is an integral part of the Universe, built on the back of an enormous turtle.
Pilgrims the world over come to seek happiness in this sacred shrine. Once a day, for a mere two hours, beings on a higher plane of existence descend from grace to bless the bar. Pints are three Euro. It is happy hour. There is much rejoicing.
Having moved here from New Zealand, the barmen set out to acquire an existing bar and improve upon it by applying their own unique style of décor. The result is an atrocity of architecture and activities in flagrant disregard of the laws of man. It’s brilliant.
The dank and dark bar, loud music and stark realities of life tends to keep the local population away; Only the hardiest and most adventurous drunkards will venture inside (with the exception of the trendy NCAD crowd, of course.) The result is that a visit here is quite isolated from the regular happenings and dangers of Thomas Street; However, you are exposed to a whole new form of chaos — way way way too much to drink.
This pub has got it all. An empty fish tank propping up a wall? You betcha. The second-​wittiest barman in the world? Of course. Ambiguous opening hours? Why, that’s the very foundation of the place!
