Just my experience, obviously. Could not really enjoy this place as, really, too many people! You cannot talk, you cannot find a place where to sit. Location and the fact that this is a pub in central Dublin make it crowded, but I have definitely experienced better. If possible, pay cash as the bar tender(nice guy) made me understand you slow them down with cards.

I’ve been here a couple of times and always liked it. Be it in a group or just one or two friends. You can make reservations if you want to come with a group and recently we got finger food and that was very tasty, I loved the mayonnaise. As the pub has many different corner and floors it give a rather intimate feel despite being quite big. The staff was always friendly. Currently a pint of Guinness is € 5.00 which to me is still on the rather pricey side of things.

The Long Stone’s always a good choice when friends can’t decide where to have drinks, since it’s got a good mix of beer and spirits and pub grub. It’s quiet enough to hear folks speak, but also tends to play decent music. It’s full of interesting little nooks and the décor varies from framed football jerseys to suits of armour. :)

Pros: — Table service, 5 euro pints, accessible bar — Good vibe with a mixed crowd of professionals and sports fans — Centrally located Cons: — Smoking is unfortunately accepted in the spacious outside area(guess that’s a pro if you smoke) — Heated lamp distribution in the outside area isn’t great

The Long Stone is a nice bar with a laid back atmosphere, nice enough food and a decent selection of beers. The nicest thing about the place, though, is probably the beer garden. I’m not a smoker, but I love a good beer garden on hot evening. The place is usually relatively quiet, especially during the week. Mostly seems to be an after work/after college crowd. There isn’t much music or anything, the place is never that loud and the staff are always nice and friendly. The food is pretty standard as far as pub food goes. Nothing special but it is a decent price and getting a platter for a table is always a nice way to soak up the alcohol. The bar looks very cool. There is some cool Norse style carvings and figures around the place. There is also a very cool wood carving of a giant bearded face that really dominates the room. The Long Stone is a good place to go to for a quiet drink or even for a few quick ones on your way out.

Nice spot. It’s a little pricier than other pubs, but the ambiance is super cool. Great place to go with a group of friends or to just to hang out with your significant other

Fantastic beer garden in the middle of the City, what more could you ask for! Good selection of beers, but tier wine selection isn’t anything to write home about.

Typical Irish pub feel to it, but they do better than most when it comes to service. I generally don’t have any problems getting service and they are pretty friendly. Cool layout inside and plenty of seating. The food is standard pub grub, and the only complain I would have is the«chefs special lasagna» which was awful. I would recommend sticking with the burgers and beer.

Excellent hidden gem in the heart of Dublin! We stumbled upon this restaurant while looking for food, and couldn’t have been happier! The food was excellent, priced appropriately, and the restaurant itself was a blast. The staff was fast, friendly, and efficient. If you go to one single restaurant while in Dublin, make it to The Long Stone. You won’t regret it. Definitely recommend to anyone!

Hidden gem in Dublin that serves up one of the best pints of Guinness. Very traditional interior, great layout with tons of space, big screens for sports and serves up some hearty food. Reasonably prices drinks for being in the centre of Dublin!

Well, one of the nicestest Pubs in Dublin, at least to the few I’ve been to. The interior is classic, the rooms are small but plenty — so no huge unpersonal halls. Huge screen in the backroom, and an IPA from Brooklyn Brewery on tap… what do you want more?

A really nice pub, great buzz about the place. The food is good and they have a good selection of drink. They have a huge smoking area and a pool table.

Stopped in for a pint on the way to the Tara Street DART station, glad I did. Nice pub with very cool décor. Definitely worth a look around before deciding on a spot to enjoy your pint. Check out the giant carving of a man’s face where his mouth is an actual fireplace, incredible. They also have a fairly large outdoor area with some tables and barrels. Only complaint was that the bartender charged my credit card in USD not EURO, I know I should have been more diligent and asked to be charged in EURO, but I hate it when servers & bartenders just automatically charge me in USD. Not a huge thing, and it won’t keep me from visiting Long Stone again.

I was pleasantly surprised when I came here, from the outside it looks like a common pub in Dublin, so the food is so-so but even though this is a classic pub the food is very well made. I went there with a few friends and I had my usual Guinness which is all I drink when at a pub in Dublin as it is the only somewhat decent beer in the pubs — though I later found out they actually got a better beer selection. I ordered a bacon burger with large fries and the burger was delicious. I asked for medium rare burger and I got a medium rare burger, not too red but just red enough to be delicious. The burger had everything good, the salad, the pickle, the tomatoes, the ketchup on the side and onions of course. Best of all the bacon was warm and crisp, very yummy. The price was only about 12 Euros, so that was an awesome price for such a good burger. Very nice cosy place. Would go here again for sure.

Best pub grub I’ve ever had in Dublin, and at dcent prices too! the pereft placeto grab a bite to eat and a few pints with your mates. One of the reasons I love this place is because it is so welcoming and diverse, with people from allwalks oflife. such a cliché, I know. but most definitely true at this pub. Also, the music is always good — a diverse mix of stuff that won’t disspolve into boringness or trying to please too much but keeps everyone happy.

One of my favourite pubs in Dublin, nice pints and some cheap pint options as well as reasonably priced food and good sized portion and finally, friendly staff. Generally quiet in the afternoon if you want to pop in and watch a match and the layout is unusual with plenty of small corners for a quiet chat.

I feel like I’ve sort of been sucked in by The Long Stone, an overdone super pub that’s the height of tack, right in the city centre. The windows out front are a tableau of Old Man Pub Pastiche, lace curtains, earthenware jugs, figurines etc., all the sorts of things typical to country pubs(and places where publicans got too old to reach in and dust). But its all affectation that hides much more modern amenities like big-screen TVs and blasting stereos. Inside it’s a clash of set-like props, flagstone floors, antiqued walls, ye oldey framed prints and hunting-lodge like chandeliers… did I just see Tom Cruise wandering around upstairs waiting for a scene cue? But just as this place bubbles over the top with loud music and huge crowds, it gets fun. Here energy is always up and the youngsters queueing out the door for drink orders are clearly having fun. While it’s definitely trumped up, it’s not about The Scene(like Lillies or Q Bar a few blocks away). Turn up with mates and get a table, and there’s sure to be a good night ahead.

I actually really like this spot due to it’s sheer tackiness. It’s interior is bizarre and for that I can’t but love it. It’s like you are stepping into 1800 Asia, with splatterings of a traditional Irish pub. Take the fire as an excellent example. It is a traditional pub fire but it’s actually in the ‘mouth’ of a huge golden head, that looks like a samurai warrior-I mean where else would you find that in Dublin?! The food is so cheap and the portions are huge. I had a wrap, chips and salad for 7 euro, it’s a carvery style operation. The food is no way near five star, it’s very medicore pub grub but I have eaten there several times with others for lunch, no one has got sick and no one has managed to eat all the food on their plate! Again do not go there if you are looking for a culinary exploration because this will bring you to a sharp and short dead end in your travels. Come here if you want to have some cheap drinks. They stock Murrays beer, a local brew. Pints of it are 3.20 euro, a pitcher of it is 9 euro. They also regularly run great drinks specials. It also always seems to have a smell of curry. There is plenty of seating and an outside area, music in keeps with the tacky theme. Last time I was there, there was a healthy mix of euro dance interspersed with heavy metal, it’s one of a kind!
