Close to the city centre & easily accessible by the airport shuttle, The Gate Hotel is staffed by friendly Dubliners who are always happy to help or offer their local knowledge. My second floor room (3rd floor for US Americans) for four evenings in late November ’14 was immaculately kept, with a nice bathroom en suite & a view of Parnell St.
I’ve seen other reviewers complain of noise from the bar below the hotel, but cannot say that I noticed anything other than the lowest of murmurs to betray its presence.
All in all I would highly recommend The Gate Hotel for a clean, friendly, inexpensive hotel close to the centre of the city, with easy transport to the airport.
