The Dean Hotel

Ich habe mich wohl noch nie so gequält gefühlt, als ich einen Beitrag verfasst habe. Vorab muss ich wirklich erwähnen, dass das Hotel wirklich sehr stylish ist und sofort einen Wow-​Effekt hat, wenn man es betritt. Dunkles Holz, coole Aufschriften, eine schicke Bar genau in der Lobby.
Dann kommt man aufs Zimmer und fühlt sich wie in einem Hipster-​Traum. Bunter Teppich, dunkel-​blaue Wände, großes Bett, ganz viel Naschzeugs und einen Plattenspieler mit verschiedenen Platten! Die Zimmer sind wirklich sau-​cool, sodass man sie kaum verlassen will.
Jetzt kommt es jedoch langsam zum sehr großen Punkte-​Abzug. Ich habe auf der Website geschaut und es wird nicht groß erwähnt dass es unten drunter einen Club gibt. ‘Everleigh’ heisst er und geht nicht nur am Wochenende, sondern 7 Tage die Woche!
Es kann nicht so schlimm sein, habe ich mir eingeredet, hätte aber die Ohrstöpsel auf dem Nachtisch als eine Warnung entnehmen sollen. Die Wände und Türen sind sehr, sehr dünn und man hört wirklich ALLES. Jede Tür die zuschließt, jedes Geräusch vom Korridor bis hin zu dem Club im Untergeschoss. ALL NIGHT LONG hat eine ganz neue Bedeutung gewonnen für mich, so wie CRYING AT THE DISCOTHEQUE.
Es kann doch nicht sein, dass ein Club wirklich SO laut sein kann (aber anscheinend doch), sodass die Hotelgäste jede Nacht wirklich Schwierigkeiten haben eine Stunde Schlaf zu kriegen. Klar, manche Leute haben das Talent durch viele Töné und Laute zu schlafen, ich gehöre aber nicht zu ihnen. Jedoch strapaziert das Hotel auch die Fähigkeiten von vielen die es können, da die Gäste im 1. Stock zum Beispiel alle Vibrationen in ihrem Bett mitbekommen vom Bass des Clubs. Sehr, sehr schade.
So sehr ich mich wirklich in das Gesamtkonzept des Hotels verliebt habe, die Architektur super finde und die Bar /​das Restaurant Sophie’s wirklich traumhaft ist mit dem Ausblick, ist es dann doch nicht genug für mich, wenn ich kein Gram Schlaf kriege in einem Hotel.

Ich kann nicht mehr als zwei Sterne geben — ich erwarte grundsätzlich erstmal zwei Dinge von einem Hotel:
1. ein komfortables Bett und 2. Ruhe. Das komfortable Bett war gegeben, die Ruhe absolut nicht.
Ich hatte einen sogenannten «Private Partyroom» (Aussage vom Nachtrezeptionisten!) auf der 1. Etage rechts. Dort ist nicht nur nebenan eine Disco die 7 Abende die Woche auf hat, sondern auch direkt unter dem Zimmer gibt es weitere Partybereiche. Von den Bässen hat mein Bett vibriert, da nützen auch keine Ohrenstöpsel mehr — Schlaf = 0,0. Für eine Woche voll mit Seminaren und voller Konzentration war das ein Albtraum. Da man in der ganzen Woche mir kein anderes Zimmer anbieten konnte, bin ich letztendlich zu meiner Kollegin nachts auf das Zimmer in die 4. Etage gezogen, um zumindest ein wenig Schlaf zu bekommen.
Was mich weniger gestört hat war, dass ich eins der kleinen Zimmer mit einem Stockbett bekommen hatte. Der Gang war leider jedoch so schmal, dass ich noch nicht mal mein Koffer aufklappen konnte. Dafür war das Bett sehr gemütlich und super modern mit coolen Retro-​Sachen ausgestattet. Das Badezimmer war klein, aber top.
Auch der Rest des Hotels ist wirklich einzigartig und toll — hier steckt ein super Konzept mit viel Stil hinter. Von den Tagungsräumen bis zur Roof-​Top Bar wirklich spitze!
Das Restaurant samt Frühstück war ebenfalls super. Hier gab es alles um gestärkt in den Tag zu starten.
Sollte man Teil der Party-​Crowd sein oder eh ich nicht vor 5 Uhr schlafen gehen, dann würde ich jedem dieses Hotel definitiv empfehlen! Für einen Business-​Trip ist es aber leider völlig ungeeignet.
Und falls man hier aber doch dafür übernachtet, sollte man zumindest versuchen ein Zimmer auf den höheren Etagen zu ergattern.

Es ist eigentlich ziemlich tragisch.
Als ich dieses Hotel betrat, dachte ich «WoW, wie geil ist das denn». Super stylisch und modern, aber dabei auch noch cool und abgefahren, mit dem Blick für die kleinen Details.
Das zieht sich durch die Eingangshalle, Rezeption, Flure, Zimmer, Tagungsräume, bis hin zur Roof-​Top Bar mit dem dortigen Restaurant.
Mein Zimmer war sehr schön eingerichtet. Ein großes, bequemes Bett, ein schickes Bad mit einer offenen Dusche. Eine Snack-​Bar mit allem möglichen und sogar ein Schallplattenspieler und passende Schallplatten dazu. Alles Top.
Dafür würde ich sofort 5 Sterne geben und könnte meine Begeisterung noch weiter ausführen, aber leider wiegt das Negative auf der andere Seite schwer.
Als ich mich im Zimmer einrichtete, sah ich auf dem Nachtisch eine Packung Ohrstöpsel liegen und mir schwante schon böses.
Dann hörte ich von einer Kollegin, die eine Nacht vorher angereist war, das sie die Etage gewechselt hatte, weil das Hotel Nachts zu einem Club mutiert.
Dies musste ich die erste Nacht dann auch leidvoll feststellen.
Nicht das innerhalb des Hotels gefeiert wird, sondern nebenan, in den benachbarten Discos und Clubs von Dublin, die links und recht vom Hotel zu finden sind.
Die wummernden Bässe hörte und spürte man im Bett. Im Grunde war die Musik eigentlich mein Geschmack und unter anderen Vorzeichen und hätte ich mich nicht auf einem Business-​Trip befunden, wäre ich sicher auch gleich zum Feiern rübergegangen, aber so eben nicht.
So «feierte» ich liegend jeden Bass und leicht im Hintergrund auch die Melodie mit. Um die Ohrstöpsel kam ich nicht herum und musste die nutzen.
Da ich Ohrstöpsel nun gar nicht gewohnt bin, hörte ich auch gleich mein Blutrauschen.
Immerhin war nun aber etwas mehr Ruhe und man konnte leicht weg dösen.
Gegen 4:30 Uhr war das Spektakel vorbei. Sollte sich aber jeden Abend wiederholen.
In Dublin feiert man scheinbar jeden Tag ausgelassen.
Zweiter negativer Aspekt war die Sauberkeit. Lange Haare im Bad, die nachweislich nicht von mir stammten und Krümmel überall im Zimmer. Als wäre jemand mit einem Brötchen durch das Zimmer gegangen.
Diese verschwanden auch nicht an den darauffolgenden Tagen. Ein Wink bei der Dame, die ich auf dem Flur traf, half da leider auch nichts.
Leider und das leider meine ich wirklich so, kann ich nicht mehr als zwei Sterne vergeben. Wäre das Zimmer einigermassen sauber gewesen, hätte ich gerne auf 3 Sterne erhöht, aber mit der Lautstärke in der Nacht, wiegt das zu schwer, da ich mich die meiste Zeit nur Abends und Nachts im Zimmer aufhielt.
Kommt man zum Party machen hierher, dann stört einen das sicher nicht. Wobei für ein Party-​Hotel die Preise auch nicht gerade günstig sind. Wie dem auch sei. Man muss eben wissen, was einen hier erwartet.

Oh Mann oh Mann, diesen Hotel zu bewerten ist echt ein Rätsel. Das Hotel an sich sieht fabelhaft aus und gehört 1oo% zu den schönsten und ausgefallenen Hotels, die ich jemals gesehn habe. Die Einrichtung gleicht einem Modehaus oder dem, was man in Zeitschriften über Wohnen sieht, bis zu jedem Detail eingerichtet. Norwegischer Style kombiniert mit Vintage und cooler geht es nicht. In jedem Zimmer gibt es einen Schallplattenrecorder mit Schallplatten und Marshal Verstärker, ein analoges Telefon und die Bar ist vollgestopft mit Leckerheiten aus der ganzen Welt. Das Badezimmer ist größer als mein Schlafzimer mit einer begehbaren Dusche.
Und jetzt kommt das ABER. Dieses Hotel, egal wie cool es ist, ist NICHT geeignet zum Schlafen! Es ist nämlich verbunden mit einem Club und die laute Musik und den Bass hört man überall bis zu fünf Uhr morgens. Man bekommt zwar eigene Ohrstöpsel, aber so was will man doch nicht wenn man einfach nur schlafen will. Und dafür sind doch Hotels hauptsächlich da, oder?
Im ersten Stock gibt es einen großen Raum, der sehr geeignet für Tagungen ist. Von den Fenstern zieht es aber richtig und vor allem im Winter ist einem am ganzen Tag sehr kalt. Getränke Nachschub oder sonstige Erfrischungen warum kaum vorhanden und der Kaffee selbst war ein Filterkaffee. Den habe ich lieber nicht mal angefasst.
Im letzten Stock liegt ein cooles Restaurant namens Sophie Bar, das ist ein Muss zum Hingehen. Im Sommer muss es auch auf der gedeckten Terrasse gemütlich sein. Das Gedeckte ist gut, schließlich sind wir in Dublin und der Regen ist das ganze Jahr durchgehend vorhanden.

I really love the layout of the hotel, the nice touches in the room (a vinyl player with a selection of great rocking records), Sophie’s Bar on the top being awesome to hang for breakfast, coffee and beers at night — plus the showers are great. There’s also a chilled out vibe across the whole hotel with nice design and local artists making this place truly unique.
Oh yeah — and it’s also built on top of one of the busiest night clubs in town — open every night of the week and just as banging on a Monday as it is on a Friday.
OK so I was on the 4^th floor and wasn’t as disturbed as my friends on the 2^nd floor who said they gave up trying to sleep on the first night, but you can still hear it pretty loudly and now I know why they give you ear plugs! But still it wasn’t an issue for me — until the last night!!!
Basically I was there in bed and was awoken at 3am — not by the noise (I had my earplugs in) but by the deep vibrations coming up from the club and across my pillow and face — pretty impressive considering I was obviously on the top floor!!! I then couldn’t get back to sleep and the vibrations just carried on…
If the Dean wasn’t a nice hotel throughout and had such great staff this would be a 1 star as the club element is such a bad idea — but if you don’t like sleep or could sleep through anything then enjoy enjoy enjoy!

Oh The Dean Hotel.
So let’s do the good and the bad.
The good is this hotel is insanely beautiful. From the dark, chic curated lobby to the seriously amazingly stunning rooms (again, chic and cool. Even things like the guitar amp speaker you can play your own music off of), to the beautiful café with 360 class on the top floor. It’s… woah.
And the staff are so friendly and welcoming, so easy to chat with and get things done, I couldn’t have been happier.
BUT!
And it’s a gigantic stop point here. Whoever built this hotel needs to be smacked. Hard. Because they thought it would be a good idea to build it RIGHT ABOVE A DAMN CLUB! And not a club that’s only bouncing on the weekends, but every night of the week. And the music or the bass or both is coming right into your room, no matter where you are.
If you don’t mind not sleeping, this spot is amazing. But if you want sleep, for godsake, look somewhere else!

I’ve been toing and froing as to what The Dean deserves and I sadly can’t go above a 3.
The décor and overall vibe of the hotel is a 5 without a doubt and the rooms are cute, modern and comfortable. The hotel is also fantastically located right in the middle of south Dublin, you pretty much can’t get a better location. You may be thinking then why only a 3? Alas, the nightclub.
No not the hotels nightclub, I’m not that naïve as to diminish a review based that however the Dean hotel is sadly built on top of a nightclub, and by the sounds of it a popular one.
I struggled to sleep on the 4 nights I was there, spared a little bit of punishment by the earbuds they provided but still left needing a good 5 of my 6 recommended hours!
I really wanted to love it and walking in on the first day I said to myself this is definitely going to be a 5 star place, sadly not.
The staff were brilliant though, friendly and courteous at all times and probably make this review a 3 star as appose to a 2.

Ooh le dilemme que cet avis ! Oui, j’ai aimé le Dean Hotel par plein d’aspects… mais je l’ai détesté par un seul et unique aspect: le bruit !
Parlons en tout de suite, comme ça ce sera réglé. L’hôtel a de l’humour et vous laisse sur la table de nuit de jolies boules quies avec un mot mignon «Appreciate the little things». Je né mets jamais de boules quies alors je né me suis pas méfiée, et c’est quand la musique a démarré à 23h30 un dimanche en mode boîte de nuit dans ma chambre que j’ai compris. Ma chambre (la 112, comme ça vous le saurez, mais ça concerne toutes les chambres situées de ce côté là de l’hôtel) était au premier étage et à la fois au dessus d’une boîte (située sous l’hôtel), du local poubelles (vus les bruits de bennes à verre que je pouvais entendre dans la salle de bains) et surtout au même niveau et face à la cour arrière d’une autre boîte de nuit. Boîte de nuit ayant la bonne idée d’ouvrir ses portes 7j/​7 de 23h30 à 3h30. Pour que vous compreniez l’idée, les basses étaientassez fort pour traverser mes boules quies à travers mon oreiller, et oui je pouvais clairement reconnaître les morceaux qui passaient. Alors certes, je me suis habituée (j’ai surtout décidé de sortir chaque soir histoire de bien dormir après) mais est ce que je recommanderais cet hôtel pour y DORMIR? NON, pas un instant ! Si vous comptez sortir tous les soirs, foncez ! Si vous voulez tout de même vous reposer, si vous aimez le calme, si vous avez des enfants… Fuyez !
À part ça, le pire c’est que tout est super ! Le choix de snacks et de petits goodies à acheter dans la chambre est top (brosse à dents, dentifrice, chargeur, adaptateur, snacks…), le lit confortable, le wifi incroyablement efficace, le service est hyper sympa, le bar du bas, le rooftop et le bar-​restaurant du haut sont super, la Blue Room (salle de conférence au 1er étage) était parfaite pour nos besoins… Bref ce serait totalement un 5 étoiles sans cette *** de boîte !!! Imaginez, j’avais même une platine et des vinyles dans ma chambre, une machine à café Nespresso, une bouilloire… Bref, absolument parfait et propre mais… faites quelque chose pour vos fenêtres, faites insonoriser la boîte ou alors né louez plus de chambres côté boîte de nuit !

Si vous venez à Dublin pour faire la fête, c’est là qu’il faut aller. Si vous y êtes dans un cadre plus posé: visite touristique ou séminaire pro, passez votre chemin car un club a élu domicile pile en dessous de l’hôtel.
TOUT vaut 5 étoiles au Dean Hotel, sauf le calme donc ! Car le club est ouvert ⁷⁄₇ et jusque 4h du matin environ, avec le boom boom qui va bien, et la cour du club à l’extérieur sous les fenêtres des chambres.
Sinon, le staff est adorable, et très cool, très irish. La déco est dingue. Les chambres sont spacieuses, avec des touches vintage bien pensées, un lit super grand, moelleux, un grand bureau, et surtout beaucoup de petits détails qui font la différence: un steamer pour repasser les vêtements froissés dans la valise, un excellent sèche-​cheveux, de chouettes produits de douche qui sentent bons, une douche spacieuse, à l’italienne…
Des snacks en veux-​tu en voilà (attention, tout est tentant, et tout est payant !) même du dentifrice, une brosse à dents, un chargeur de téléphone, des vitamines… Un mini bar bien rempli !
Et des vinyles qu’on peut écouter directement dans sa chambre avec une enceinte Marshall !
Si vous êtes nombreux (pour faire la fête par exemple !) choisissez la Penthouse, elle est assez dingue: deux chambres avec un balcon, et au milieu un salon géant avec un canapé rouge 70’s et même une cuisine individuelle.
Le Bar de l’hotel et son rooftop sont sublimes, avec une vue panoramique sur Dublin.
Ils ont également une salle de conférence, parfaitement équipée, la Blue Room, pour le coup parfaite pour les meet ups !
Une adresse à retenir pour un week-​end festif à Dublin !

Als ich das Hotel «The Dean» betreten habe, bekam ich Schmetterlinge im Bauch. Die Einrichtung sehr «hipsterish», dunkles licht, viel blau (aber stimmungsvolles blau) und der Stil ingesamt einfach nur cool! Die Mädels an der Rezeption waren sehr freundlich.
Im Eingangsbereich gibt es auch eine schicke Bar. Man kann sich praktisch direkt einen Willkommens– Drink gönnen. Was ich erst an Tag 2 meines Aufenthalts bemerkte war «Sophie’s Bar», das ist die Rooftop Bar/​Restaurant des Hotels, mit 360 Grad Blick über die Stadt.
Wunderschön! Das Interieur auch hier wieder top.
Nun zu meinem persönlichen Highlight! Meinem Hotelzimmer! Ich konnte immer wieder kleine Dinge entdecken, auch wenn das Zimmer nicht riesig war, war es sehr interessant geschnitten und ich hab mich immer gefreut abends «nach Hause» zu kommen. Das Boxspringbett war so unglaublich gemütlich! Der kleine Retro Kühlschrank hat mir gut gefallen und selbst die Getränke waren stylisch. Schaut in den Fotos :)
Last but not least– das Bad! Ich liebe große Duschen mit Wasserfall und Spiegel: D
Das klingt alles total nach 5 Sternen! Wären da nicht zwei Clubs unter dem Hotel (mit Outdoorbereich), die wohl auch noch zu den größten Clubs Europas gehören.
Dort ist jeden Tag RICHTIG Party angesagt.
So — Fr war ich da und es ging jeden Abend ab wie am Ballermann.
Ich finde das Hotel ist gut isoliert und hatte im 4. Stock trotz allem keine Probleme einzuschlafen– was wohl auch am Wochenpensum lag ;) Es hat bei vielen aber für Schlafprobleme gesorgt. Die Ansonsten liegen im Zimmer auch Oropax aus.
Würde ich wiederkommen? Auf jeden Fall! Her mit dem Bad, dem Comfort des Zimmers, der Coolness des Hotels und den Partyvibes ;-)

Hier sind Partyvibes garantiert — sehr stylisch und hipsterlich verpackt.
Schon beim Betreten bin ich beeindruckt von der geschmackvollen Einrichtung besonders die Rezeption hat es mir angetan. Sie fordert einen auf: ‘Fall in Love here!’ Finde ich sehr passend zu dem Türschild: ‘I’m flirty dirty, gimma a good clean’. Dieses Hotel überrascht mit seinen Details, egal in welches Eck man schaut überall gibt es was zu entdecken. Der Eingangsbereich ist stilvoll gestaltet und man bekommt mit dem langezogenen Tisch in der Mitte des Raumes nicht das Gefühl, dass es sich um eine klassische Hotellobby handelt.
Klassisch ist hier sowieso gar nichts. Um die ganzen Details in meinem Zimmer zu entdecken brauchte ich ein bisschen, weil’s so viele davon gab! Für ein Einzelzimmer hatte ich, durch das stockwerkartige Bett, relativ viele Schlafmöglichkeiten.
Ich schlafe aber natürlich unten, sonst fall ich zum Schluss noch runter. Natürlich habe ich das Bett gleich probegesessen — Flauschigkeitstest bestanden. Neben dem Bett steht, kaum übersehbar ein überdimensionales Minibar-​Tablet, das einen täglich mit Kleinigkeiten in Versuchung führt. Ich kann natürlich nicht widerstehen und bei meiner Abreise fehlen, dann schon einige Sachen.
Neben diesem Tablet steht ein Wasserkocher von Bodum, Tassen für Tee/​Caffe und eine Marshall Musikbox, die ich jeden Morgen via Bluetooth mit der Musik meines Handys verbinde, um in den Morgen zu tanzen. Abends braucht man diese Musikbox sicherlich nicht, da man den Club unter dem Hotel die ganz Nacht hört. Da hatte ich teilweise schon das Gefühl im Club zu schlafen und nicht im Hotel. Sehr zuvorkommend sind allerdings die Ohropax, die einem jeden Tag neben das Bett gelegt werden. Ohne diese steht man sicherlich die ganze Nacht waagrecht im Bett.
Dieses Hotel begeistert mit Details, dem hipsterlichen Flair und den täglich neuen Ohropax.

On va commencer par les points positifs. L’hôtel est superbe du rez de chaussé au dernier étage. Il a ce petit côté hôtel particulier mais moderne. Ma chambre se trouvait au 1er étage. Grande, très bien agencée, un bureau, une TV, un mini bar de folie (à des prix très abordables), un très grand lit (tellement confortable) et une grande salle de bain fonctionnelle. J’ai adoré le parti pris déco ainsi que la présence d’une platine vinyle et de quelques disques à dispo. Autre point positif: le service ! Un des meilleurs que j’ai pu avoir dans un hôtel de cette gamme. Une équipe aux petits soins même tard le soir.
Possibilité de petits déjeuner, déjeuner ou dîner au restaurant de l’hotel: Sophie’s (au dernier étage) ou boire un verre de sweet vermouth (ma boisson favorite depuis 1 an) sur le rooftop chauffé. J’ai pu tester le petit déjeuner et le choix est vraiment sympa. Du salé (classique Irish Breakfast), du sucré (salade de fruit, french toast,…), café/​thé/​chocolat chaud, des jus de fruits (bon point pour celui aux cranberries) et une superbe vue sur Dublin.
On en vient au point négatif? Celui qui m’a clairement empêché de mettre 5 étoiles? Le bruit ! Pour bien dormir et vous reposer, c’est loupé. L’hôtel se situe dans une rue remplie de boîtes de nuit ouvertes du lundi au dimanche (oui oui tous les soirs) jusqu’à 4h du matin. Aucune chambre n’est épargnée. On entend la musique, les basses, tout ! Heureusement que j’ai le sommeil lourd mais sincèrement, malgré tous les autres points négatifs, si vous êtes sensibles au bruit ou même si vous avez des enfants, oubliez The Dean Hotel. Si le bruit né vous fait pas peur, si vous êtes un clubber et si vous supportez bien les boules quies, reservez, vous allez adorer !

Great hotel with enough amazing art to reopen as a gallery In a heartbeat. The Dean is effortlessly stylish and sophisticated with a modern edge to its design in every room, corridor and space.
The staff here are all lovely and can’t do enough to make sure you enjoy your stay. The rooms although pretty compact are well designed and laid out with a decent size bathroom complete with a pretty amazing shower… a very important part of any stay in my book.
One word of warning is that if you are a light sleeper this is probably not the best slot for you to stay as the nightlife of Dublin is literally on the doorstep of this building… a good thing for some… a real negative for others.

Ay qué penita me da tener que ponerle sólo dos estrellas a este hotelazo, pero es que aquí lo que valoramos es la experiencia en el sitio, y aunque el sitio mola mucho, la experiencia es nefasta, especialmente a la hora de dormir, que es, mayormente, a lo que uno viene a un hotel.
Es un hotel precioso con una decoración moderna y realmente inspiradora, con unas instalaciones magníficas y todo lujo de detalles y servicios, como un reproductor de vinilos con un altavoz Marshall en la habitación o un restaurante panorámico en la última planta.
Sin embargo, el hotel está rodeado de discotecas que están, literalmente, debajo de la ventana de las habitaciones. Y no son discotecas cerradas, sino que son patios internos por lo que el estruendo es brutal hasta las tantas de la mañana.

I had an absolute blast at this well-​located hotel during the Unilocal EU Community Manager Week.
First of all, I’m an easy sleeper so I liked the hotel. If you have difficulties sleeping, the Dean will not be your cup of tea. There’s a nightclub in the building and you can easily sing along with the greatest songs from your room till 4am.
That being said, the hotel is beautiful with a Scandinavian industrial vibe going on. The staff is so helpful and friendly and the panorama restaurant Sophie’s is pretty amazing.
The blue conference room was ideal for our 50+ group, well equipped, well lit and well catered.
About the room: loved the bathroom and bunk bed, but I missed a proper closet to hang my stuff. (I stayed at the Dean for four nights).
If you’re a couple of friends who love to go crazy in Dublin for a weekend, this is your hotel.

Observando estas características y viendo que solo tiene 3 estrellas y media en Unilocal,las dudas te asaltan ¿qué falla en la ecuación? Sencillo, el hotel está sobre una discoteca de adolescentes y la Música de Justin Bieber a todo trapo, puede despertarte a cualquier hora de la madrugada… Por eso tienes a tu disposición un paquetito con tapones para los oídos, están en todo.
Por lo demás he de decir que la habitación que me ha tocado es algo zulo, aunque cuenta con todas las comodidades, y teniendo en cuenta que la voy a pisar más bien poco, pues es más que adecuada. Sólo hay algo que no me mola de ella, y es que no tiene armario, ni perchas (sólo 2 normales y dos para pantalones) y teniendo en cuenta que una de mis manías de señora mayor es, que no me mola ir con la ropa arrugada, pues eso… que he tenido que colgar la ropa en unos apliques de la pared en vez de en un armario como dios manda…
Por lo demás, la cama muy guay, buena tele y mogollón de golosinas, piscolabis y productos como crema de dientes, condones o gominolas a la venta, sobre mi escritorio…
Si tienes el sueño a prueba de bombas, te puede molar el hotel pero si eres de sueño ligero, puede que tengas problemas para conciliarlo.

Está situado a unos 10 – 15 minutos del centro de Dublín. La habitación en la que estuve hospedada era preciosa, amplia, cómoda y acogedora. Además disponía de una nevera «Smeg» llenita de bebidas de todo tipo, una caja llena de chuches y tentempiés, pasta dentrífica, tapones para los oídos… Uno de los cajones albergaba un secador de pelo y un aspirador de mano (qué buena idea), y en la estantería había una cubitera, una botella de Absolut… En fin, lo encontré súper completo y original. La cama era grande y cómoda, y el plasma enooorme! Además era muy luminosa gracias a su gran ventanal.
El desayuno es en la última planta y tiene unas vistas muy chulas, y la decoración es genial, acorde a la de todo el hotel.
Yo estuve en una de las aulas para convenciones con la empresa y se estaba muy a gusto (cuenta con buen sonido, proyector, pantalla…).
La wifi es abierta y no necesita contraseña, ni te va echando cada cierto rato como sí pasa en muchos otros hoteles, que anda que no es molesto.
El trato del personal es genial, cercano y casi todos te atienden con una sonrisa, cosa que se agradece.
Solo que tengas en cuenta que está cerca de un club nocturno y que algunos días te puede llegar a molestar el ruido (mejor pide una habitación que quede alejada de la disco).

After browsing through different hotels The Dean was the perfect fit for me. The location is a prime. I pretty much walked everywhere. Okay I read the reviews before booking this hotel. I knew about the noise level in advance so I brought a pair of earplugs :) which I didn’t need cause the hotel had a pair by my night stand. If you are a light sleeper just use the earplugs!
The front desk staff was extremely helpful and attentive. Yes I absolutely loved my stay at The Dean. Try the restaurant upstairs Sophie’s and strike a conversation at the bar with the bartender’s who gives great travel tips.

More 3.5 stars for me… Reviewing as a customer of their bar/​lounge/​rooftop!
Awesome kudos for introducing a great rooftop space here in Dublin which is great for socialising however the service here whether on the rooftop or downstairs in the lounge has always been a little on the slow side. The rooftop bar, you can order from there pizza menu however the service can be hit or miss… Can take awhile to get the menu first of all and the waiter doesn’t return to the table, you have to wait and try flag down another waiter to try take your order. My sentiments are they don’t resource the rooftop as well as they could, it pulls in the punters yet it seems to be the place with least about of staff working it.
The lounge downstairs comes alive at the weekend with dj’s and music making this a great venue for a night out, it is however quite a small space so quickly becomes a little crazy. Getting in early, you can get a cosy space allowing you to rid the handbag and coats for the night… This is also a little secret garden to the side of the bar, which is awesome! Love it in here, especially when things get too much out in the main lounge.

Room are nice, design trendy but don’t expect to sleep. The nightclub next door kills any hope of sleeping with music from midnight to 4AM… Ridiculous to be so close to this nuisance.

Be aware! There’s a massive window in between the bedroom and bathroom, with no option of a blind or anyway to close it off, if you’re sharing a double, as I was on a business trip, you’ll have no privacy. We had to make a fuss and in the end the hotel stuck up black bin bags with tape all over the window… charming. Very loud at night, and very dark in the reception area-​great for the party, not so great checking in after a long day of traveling and trying to find passports papers etc etc. On the upside, the Irish are super friendly.

Have been here a few times now and every time I go it never lets me down! You have a choice of two places enjoy a drink and food (technically 3)! the lobby area. A cool retro looking reception/​lobby/​bar area! The cocktails are great here. If you fancy some fresh air then look no further. Head to floor 5! The rooftop bar here is simply brilliant. Get in early for a seat as its a popular place. Once you are seated you’ll find it hard to move on! You can order food here too.
Waiting service can be a little slow on the 5^th flor I find. But it’s a small price to pay!
If you don’t fancy pub grub then ask for a table in Sophie’s, the restaurant on the same floor as the rooftop bar. One of the best liking restaurants in Dublin if you ask me. Stunning views and it always seems busy. I’ve not eaten here her but it in the list!

Came in for the brunch menu which was very reasonable. It was easy enough to get a table for two with no reservation.
Staff was very engaged and friendly.
I ordered the eggs Benedict and unfortunately the downfall was that my poached eggs had a clear lump of uncooked white at the bottom which I personally dislike but it was understandable because I did not ask for all the whites to be cooked properly.
The hollandaise and ham on it were perfect and complimented each other very well.
One other thing that brought down a star was the smell of my water glass was awful… The smell of dirty dishwasher nearly put me off the water itself.

If you want to sleep at night, DO NOT stay here. Esp in Room 102, also nicknamed «The Room From Hell». The noise from The Dean Hotel drowns out the noise from any other bar they mention that you might hear. I will never stay here again nor will I recommend it to anyone I know.
I was so excited to stay here, especially after my friend and boyfriend had dinner at Sophie’s and spoke so highly of it. Let’s just say that after my stay, the only 2 positive things I have to say about this place is the view and food from Sophie’s and the ladies at the front desk during the day.
Prior to booking, we researched the hotel thoroughly! And yes, we saw this warning from their website: «The Dean Hotel is situated smack bang in the heart of Dublin’s vibrant nightlife district, surrounded by clubs and venues. We work hard to reduce the noise in our bedrooms but we don’t have quiet rooms, just quieter rooms sometimes, depending on what’s happening around us on the night of your stay. It’s really important that you consider this before making your booking.»
However, what they failed to mention is they don’t have quiet or quieter rooms period. And when the front lobby turns into a nightclub, they ignore their guests.
We came back in the afternoon around 3:00 from touring all day and thought it would be nice to sit at the bar and have a nice relaxing drink and then head out for dinner. Before we even walked into the hotel, we could hear the music blasting. And as soon as you opened the door, you knew you would have to talk loudly just to have your friends hear you. We opted to just head straight to our room instead.
So we took a nap and woke up around 9:30 to the thumping music and bass and decided to just skip dinner all together. My boyfriend decided to shower and I decided to order room service. I called 4 different times over an 1 hour and NO ONE at the front desk picked up the phone. I even looked at the hotel information in the room and it said to call the front desk to order food.
That meant that I had to walk downstairs in the middle of the nightclub that they had and try to speak with someone at the front desk. I spoke with a man and explained to him my scenario about the food and he told me he would have it up in 15 minutes. I also explained to him that we were in the room on the first floor that was located directly next to the stairwell leading to the lobby. Every time the door opened, we were blast with music. In addition to the bass and music you could hear and sing every lyric to. I asked if we could be moved to a different room. He stated that they were sold out.
This was a lie. I went online and was able to book a room for that night online. Never lie to your guests when everyone in the world has access to the internet. So I went back upstairs and he delivered my food in 15 mins. He apologized again and offered to give us a late check out and we declined. The check out is already 12 pm, so why would we need a late check out. We also had a plane to catch so that wasn’t even an option.
The room was clean but it was small and cramped because they try to accommodate you by having everything under the sun in the room for sale. It left no room to really even put your luggage. The bottle or vodka and wine were covered in dust, so you knew they had been there a while. If you want space, you need to pay the money for a larger room.
Needless to say, we attempted to get some sleep but while the nightclub was open, it wasn’t possible. That morning when we left I told the girl at the front desk everything and she reminded me that they have the warning on the website. I politely explained to her that there was no warning for a guest’s phone calls being ignored for one hour and having to get dressed and walk through a night club just to get room service. It takes away the point of room service.
I also reminded her that the paperwork in their rooms mention how you can sleep and relax there. I informed her that even with the ear plugs they give the hotel guests, you still can’t sleep. I asked why they would even bother to advertise that you can.
The girls at the front desk were great on the day we arrived. And the food at Sophie’s was good. However, you need to make reservation because they book fast and don’t really accommodate the hotel guests.
Overall, don’t stay here.

I am only reviewing the bar/​reception/​seating area. LOVE the Dean. I have been for lunch a few times and it was great, the interior amd atmosphere is great. I love the long table in the middle of reception. The food is always lovely. It is not cheap but you pay for the atmosphere and good food. The only downside is that service can be slow

So my review is for the hotel and bar /​restaurant area…
The hotel is not cheap… nor does it feel it. I booked the Hi-​Fi room which is € 230 room only. There are other options from the smaller Mod Pod and Punk Bunks to the standard double SupeRooms. It was a treat for me so I plumped for the Hi-​Fi room. We arrived on Saturday afternoon and as soon as we walked through the doors I knew the hotel would be fabulous. The lobby was unlike any hotel I’ve seen before — as was the check in desk… super cool and laid back.
We had a drink at the bar in the lobby while we waiting for our room to be ready… it’s impressive and quite clear that no expense has been spared. The über cool vibe was consistent throughout the corridors we walked. And onto the room! Yet again, you could see where your money was going with the likes of a Smeg fridge, record player, funky chairs and a bathroom to die for.
After 2 heavy nights in town, I badly needed a nap so hopped into that cosy bed for a couple of hours before hitting the famous Sophie’s bar for dinner and drinks.
They weren’t taking bookings for groups of less that 6 people. So we headed up early enough to grab a drink and wait for a table. Upon leaving the lift on the 5^th floor everyone seemed pretty enamoured with these swings — me included :-)
We checked out the outside area but I’m afraid even with the heaters and blankets it was too chilly for me — a fab space for a few summer drinks though.
We went on back into the restaurant and bar area peeking into the visible kitchen area as we passed.
We stuck our names down to wait for a table while we took a seat at the bar. If I was impressed with the lobby bar area I was stunned by Sophie’s. I haven’t experienced anywhere like this yet in Ireland — I absolutely loved it. We were right to get there early — the place was bustling and there was a great buzz.
We started the evening off with a couple of cocktails as we people watched (the fabulous people!) around us. Our wait for the table was surprisingly short and we had some great, reasonably priced food. My only complaint with the food was a burnt apple tart with very little apple for dessert… the butterscotch ice cream and sauce were delish though!
After a few Proseccos at the bar we headed off to bed relatively early for a decent sleep before our Brunch the next day! Unfortunately for me as a light sleeper, our room was directly above the nightclub next door on Harcourt Street… this busy beer garden was my view for the evening and needless to say with music going till 5am I didn’t have a peaceful night :-(This is a busy street and some noise is to be expected but if you are a light sleeper like myself be sure to book directly with the hotel and ask for a room as far away from this as possible.
Next morning we had brunch booked for 12 so it was back up to Sophie’s. Seeing it in the daytime was equally as nice… it’s such a bright and gorgeous space.
The Brunch menu is again well priced and the food was good… if slightly rushed. We were in and out in 35 minutes but to be fair to them there was a constant stream of people arriving and they are probably still finding their feet with timing etc. As I said though, the food was great and really set us up for the day!

The Dean hotel was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. The point of a hotel is to have a room to go back to sleep in and that is nearly impossible in their non– sound proof rooms. It doesn’t seem to matter what day of the week it is there is room shakingly loud music until 4am. In the week that we spent there we barely got any sleep. The staff did not seem to care at all when we complained. Worst of all it wasn’t the clubs down the road that were the problem for noise but rather the hotel’s roof top bar/​restaurant who played their music until four am and would then proceed to clean up with the sounds of foot steps and sliding chairs and tables until morning. Ironically we were told we were in one of the quietest rooms! What a joke!
I would only recommend this hotel if you are planning on partying at the clubs and need somewhere to crash at 4am, otherwise prepare yourself for sleepless nights.

Everything in my body wanted to love this hotel and then I stayed here and it was a nightmare. Whoever the genius was who decided NOT to sound proof the rooms will surely struggle to work in this industry again. I stayed here in the first few weeks after it opened. Got a great deal of € 110 for the night and couldn’t believe my luck when I saw the room.
The rooms are awesome– we had a very comfortable bed with the added bonus of a bunk bed on top (yes I am a big child). The rooms had great snacks, wooden floors and the bathroom was super cool. Not the biggest hotel room in the world but we did’t care.
That night we went for beers in Dublin and finished our night off on the rooftop bar in the Dean. Getting into our room at 2am slightly inebriated we were shocked to not only hear music but feel the room vibrating. We tried to sleep but it was too unbearable. Called to reception and they said they would move us to a higher floor. So at 3am moved all our luggage through the cold and loud hotel. The higher floor at least didn’t have any vibrations but we could still hear all the lyrics to Chris Brown rocking the nightclubs underneath and to the right of the hotel. There were also other issues with fire alarms the next morning as well as workers in the hallways (they were still finishing off construction so shouldn’t be an issue anymore). I asked for a full refund and to their credit provided me with one. Staff were great and must be tough knowing what they know every night.
This is not a hotel you will get a good night’s sleep in but if you are looking to party or on a stag/​bachelorette party in Dublin then this is the place to stay.

Okay so The Dean is the new ‘in place’ to go! So what! They still never cleaned the dirty table I sat down at and the service was dreadful. I might add that this was a Thursday night and not jam packed by any means! Yes the view is fabulous and the décor is lovely but the service was not good. Will I go back? I’m sure I will because it’s the ‘in place’ to go.

I LOVED The Dean Hotel — it oozes class without even trying. If it had a beard it would be the best-​groomed beard in town, if it had a man bun it would rival a woman’s hair and if I came across it on Tinder I would swipe right every single time! What I’m trying to say is The Dean is absolutely unbelievable both in terms of facilities and service. It manages to have style and class while remaining chic, which is a very difficult balance to maintain.
As soon as you walk in to The Dean you feel like you have arrived home, the casually dressed staff have a real easy manner about them, there is an internal sunshine that exudes form them all and you can just tell that they are happy to come to work in The Dean every day. Every single occasion I talked to a member of staff they were absolutely charming and extremely accommodating.
There’s free (quick) Wifi in the lobby area so if you’re on business you can chill in the comfortable surrounding and get your emails sorted before you head off to the office.
As you probably gathered from my intro, the hotel itself is a hipsters paradise everything is quirky and unique — even the typography they use on the signs. The corridors are dark and moody with mirrors on the ceilings creating a spacious feeling.
My room was beautiful — decorated in a rustic minimal fashion that closely resembled a New York loft apartment. They pay real attention to detail in the rooms, there’s real luxury but you never really feel like you are in a ‘posh’ hotel. I had a mounted smart TV, a record player with vinyl and an amp as well as a fully stocked snack bar featuring some old school treats (tea cakes, popcorn and mints). There’s complimentary pod coffee on offer as well as so you don’t have to dive in to the mini bar if you don’t want to. My sleeping experience was perfect — I was on the third floor and could hear a wee bit of noise coming from the restaurant but nothing outrageous. — There’s some earplugs provided if you’re a light sleeper — alternatively you could join the party because every night is a party at The Dean Hotel!

What a great spot to have in our new vibrant Dublin. It reminds me a lot of the Hoxton in London which is a great thing, but I certainly don’t want to write a review based on comparisons. This is a review for the downstairs bar /​reception /​lunch area.
I worked from here the other day and it’s just exactly what I’ve been looking for. It’s very funky and nicely lit, with lots of small tables that fit one or two, presumably designed for meetings and folks working from there. I’m told they will all have plug points as well which will be brilliant — you can tell they don’t have it all quite together just yet, but it’s coming. The wifi is really fast with no password which is a Godsend.
They have an excellent salad buffet type scenario over lunch. The food was was a really high standard — fresh, lots of choice, good quality ingredients and creatively put together. You can either buy a side plate and add it to their rotisserie, or pay a tenner (I think?) for a large plate and refill as many times as you like.
The staff were engaged, professonal and friendly.
I’m reserving the five star til they have everything sorted, but so far so good!

Fantastic new hotel on Harcourt street. Totally different from any other Dublin hotel. There is a bar in the ground floor, function room on the first floor and Sophie’s restaurant on the top floor. The décor is really unique — very modern and stylish but not prohibitively so.
The restaurant on the top floor is breathtaking with views down onto all of the little streets in Dublin. Absolutely my new favourite spot. The service was also really good
