The Bagel Factory

I came in for the good looking menu and healthy options stated in the window. The food one sandwich I got was fine, it is the only redeeming quality of this place because I’ve never received worse service in Dublin. The two female staff working midday on 14÷7÷15 rolled their eyes when my sister and I said we had just come in and were first looking at the menu. One staff became very impatient asking us several times in a two minute span when we were clearly reading the menu (and there was no line or other customers to wait on). When we asked a question one staff was especially short and when my sister asked what cheeses they have she said «these» and pointed to the ingredients behind the glass (yet there were no signs). We were also not offered to have our food brought to the table while two males were offered this before and after us. They also made us wait while they cleaned two tables before she was able to give us the wifi password we politely asked for. Clearly these staff are just rude and should not be around customers – sad.

This Bagel Factory is a nice place for a coffee and a bite to eat on this small middle stretch of Baggot Street between Lower Baggot Street and the Stephen’s Green end. They have some ample indoor seating with a bigger basement area augmenting the space and some outdoor seating to boot.
This particular Bagel Factory appears to be popular with couriers in the mornings, I couldn’t say why, I imagine they must work nearby and outdoor seats allow them to keep a close eye on their bicycles, I suppose.

I like the bagel factory for breakfast but not for lunch. They do great smoothies (second only to Zumo) and I like the banana bagel for breakfast. But I think the savoury ones are a little greasy, although having said that I sometimes give in to a Turkey Club.
Bagels are delicious though, sesame, poppy seed, wholemeal, raisin and cinammon, toasting with loads of butter. Great way to start the day.

The best place to go when you have a hangover. The coffee is cheap and good. The bagels banish the pain that you self inflicted the night before. The value for money also takes the torture out of the money you wasted the night before.
The staff are über fast which again is a good thing when your head is screaming in rhythm to the bass drum of the night before.
It’s also a great spot when you are not hungover or for those of you that are sensible.
Small outdoor area too.

I really love a good bagel, and i think here is the closest you can get to a real new york experience! They bagels are lovely and big, and there is a generous amount of filling, but i find that they can be quite pricey. The staff seemed to be quite disinterested in even saying hello to me, so for this it looses points for me, however im sure it isnt like this in all of them! Definetly worth trying a bagel from here, just a different branch! :)
