I started working in Sweeney O Rourke ltd in 1977 with my father John O Rourke and his partner Frank Sweeney. Both gentlemen passed on a wealth of experience. Our premises has been a catering showrooms since the 1940s

We remain an Irish owned company and endeavour to be best that we can. One on one service is still very important to us and our motto ’ through service we grow’ is still true today as it was when we started.

This is a small place that I’ve only heard about while I was doing a cooking course.
They specialize in all sorts of kitchen/​catering equipment and have an extensive amount of knives for choice. So if you’re looking for a spatchel, tins, pourers for liquor bottles etc. chances are you’ll find it here.
The reason I come here quite frequently (every couple of months) is to get my chef knives sharpened. Takes them only a couple of minutes and at 2 Euro a pop it’s well worth it!
The only downside for a member of the general workforce like me are the opening times. Monday to Friday from 8.30 to 5pm. There’s no way I can make that, unless I’m off.
Staff are absolutely lovely and very knowledgeable. Can only recommend this place

Great shop, has everything for the kitchen, I especially love their selection of knives which once you use them, you’ll wonder how you ever did without them. The knive blocks make excellent gifts for anyone with a kitchen. This place is definitely worth a visit — I’m not a chef, but the quality and variety of products sold here make it the perfect shop for any cooking or baking enthusiasts.
