I love this place, they just have everything! I’ve got a lot of food intolerances & they have alternatives for everything that I can’t eat! Also a fantastic meat counter & wine selection!

Terrible butcher, couldn’t be bothered trying to help. Would not recommend. Shop is only ok. Go to super value killester instead

Decent local shop especially with limited options in the Raheny area. Has plenty of selection and is good for picking up a few items here and there. Prices for store brand items such as Cereal are on par with discount stores(think Aldi, Lidl, etc.) however, in general(as budget travelers) we found that SuperValu tends to be more expensive overall.

I am a fan of this shop. It isn’t as big as some of the other supermarkets but they carry a good selection for its size. They have to restock regularly as it is smaller so yes constantly huge trolleys on the floor while putting up stock. All staff are polite and helpful. Will put extra checkout staff on if there is a que most times. As a shop they always seem to be supporting local schools and charities. I need some special order items and they didn’t always have them in stock as the demand wouldn’t be high. But one of the managers told me to phone the day before I needed them and she would have them for me! Can’t say fairer than that. Downside to it is the hill down to the back carpark. 3 kids in toe, 2 in trolley plus a full load of shopping and the trolley runs away on you. Cars coming up and down and it can be lethal. The path is narrow and if anyone is coming up it they may just jump out of my way cause I can’t stop the trolley! Big fear is it would run out under a car. But they could solve this problem by opening their lift directly into the carpark, not involving going through the café but if they put a door opening directly into the car park(near the trolley bay!) Just in case they read this. But overall great opening hours, great over holiday periods and during snow. Constantly stocked. Gritted and ploughed their car parks. Great effort made. Very good with the elderly — packing their shopping, delivery etc.

Supervalu in Raheny is a strange enough type of shop. A small local supermarket, they are a bit of a dichotomy at times, like the time I went there and they were out of red peppers, but had kangaroo meat for sale. The shop can be very enervating, too: there is a counter for valuable and/or shopliftable items, like ciggarette and razorblades, scratch cards, etc, but half the time there is nobody working at it, and you have to wait for a staff member to happen upon you. I have to give mad props to the sandwich counter at this point, though. Early on a Saturday morning recently, I went in to get a roll for later consumption at my place of work. There was no queue(as is only to be expected in the morning), and I got a roll containing the following: mayonnaise, ham, grated cheese, lettuce, cucumber and red onion. For this varied roll(one meat, cheese and count ‘em 1,2,3 salads) I was charged only three euro and seventeen cent. Being fairly impressed with this value, and being in work for another long day the next day, I headed into the deli counter once more for another roll. This time, I got exactly the same roll, only i substituted stuffed turkey for the previous day’s ham(variety being the spice of life). For this tasty roll I was charged a minuscule two euro thirty something cent. € 2.40 for a roll?!? You’d pay twice that for the same roll a Spar or Centra in town. So if you happen to be passing through our sweet little suburb, or if you have the incomparable good fortune of being a native of Rath Éanaigh, do pop into Supervalu for all of your sandwich and kangaroo meat needs.
