Spice & Rice does the job quickly and conveniently, with no frills and no pretensions. It took about 15 minutes to get our food. The food tastes okay but it wasn’t anything special. The chicken rogan josh reminded me of tomato sauce, while in the«seven types of lentils» dish I counted two lentils and chickpeas. However, do go for the channa chat starter, a cold salad of chickpeas, tomatoes, cucumbers and spiced yoghurt. It’s good value for money as each main comes with a rice or naan or chips. The value meal for one is enough to feed two who aren’t too hungry, comprising a starter, main, rice + naan + papadoms, and a can of Coke. To recap: it’s fine for a perfectly passable meal when you’re too lazy to cook, and will likely leave lovely leftovers(how’s THAT for alliteration!) And get the channa chat!
